TOP 5 BEST/WORST PROGAMMED STATIONS

Hey guys and gals,

In an another attempt to revive this board, here are my top 5 best and worst programmed stations in the market:

TOP 5 BEST:

1)KKOB-AM- Even though ratings are fading, still #1 and still a major force.

2)KZRR- PD has done a good job keeping the station fresh and solid.

3)KKOB-FM- Pop tags a great addition, they have the competiton following THEM. Drilling the hits. They need a night jock though.

4)KBQI- Station's imaging is better than KRST, better sounding talent mornings and afternoons, sounds fresh and more modern. Need help in promotions though.

5)KMGA- Solid, but should have more live jocks. Stations have tried to go up against them in the past, and have failed.

Market must sound pretty bad to have the AC station in this list. Word.

TOP 5 WORST:

1)KQBT- What a waste. When was the last time music maintenance done at this station? The "MOVIN'" imitation is a good idea but how many times can you play "All That She Wants" by Ace Of Base or "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me" by Culture Club? Pure Burnout, Pure Laziness. Someone donate more music to this station! Or change the format. Heavy set of call letters for a startup CHR in another market, someone would love to use them.

2)The Range. Get some imaging. Get a sound. Get a clue.

3)KSYU- HOT 95.1. This station has decent jocks and imaging, but has the same lack of music maintenance as KQBT. Burnt out. Ratings are starting to show this.

4)KKSS- The worst this station has EVER sounded. This station is only in the top 5 because hip hop lovers have no where else to go. I never thought I would live to see the day that a mainstream would beat a rhythmic in this town. The PD should be ashamed.

5)KBZU- Syndication on both morning and afternoon drive is a big mistake. The philosophy is an insult to the local talents in the market.

Comments? Wake up! I know you're reading this and want to reply.

Add 98.5 KABG to the list of the worst.

Awfull imaging, Grumpy sounding morning jock, Music mix of Boston More Than A feeling and Patsy Cline Crazy. They only do well because they are the only quote oldies station NO wait they don't use that any more they are classic top 40. KABG better look out for KRKE 1600 am a very good 50's-60's OLDIES station getting close to a 2 share 12+ pretty good for a station that is only 10kw during the day and double a battery power at night.

I agree about KQBT, Hot 95 and the Range. The range's music is ok but they have no Stationality

The Range needs to be stablized, and needs to play more classic country. They claim to play "real" country, but they don't. No offense, but Crystal Gayle, Ronnie Milsap and Glen Campbell, as exceptional singers as they are, are not my cup of tea when I think "real" country. Give me Haggard and Jones!

I also prefer KIOT for classic rock.
