Top 5 XM channels

Well 5 isnt nearly enough, so i will cherry pick my favs from each category.......

1. BPM

2.80s on 8

3.90s on 9

4.WLW

5. XM Talk Radio 165.... But only for Coast to Coast A.M My favorite show.

Trust me, I listen to many others, I listen to all the Dance Channels, and I also listen to U-pop and Big Tracks.... Big tracks is like a Rock Based JACK FM Format. I also listen to 70s on 7, and Ethel and Lucy.

Just got XM for Christmas. So far, my favorite channels:

1) Lucy (54)
2) XM Cafe (45)
3) Flight 26 (26)
4) Ethel (47)
5) MIX (22)

I've also really been enjoying Real Jazz (70) and the Big Ten Network play-by-play (196-198).

I have been a subscriber for about 2.5 years now. My favorite channels are:

1. Suite 62
2. XM 65 The Rhyme
3. Watercolors 71
4. Spirit 33
5. XM Chill 84

Also since I'm a shill for the Big 12, listening to Big 12 football is a great thing. My only problem with XM was the removal of 61 The Flow to online only. My wife and I loved that station when it was on the bird.

Just got on XM but so far my favorites:

1. The Message (they play a lot of stuff OTA stations including K Love don't/won't touch)
2. Lucy
3. Ethel
4. Watercolors
5. Fox Sports

I also love all of the SEC coverage. Gameday is going to be so much fun this season.

My "fab 5"...in absolutely no order of pref....

50s on 5 (but, puh...leeze, cut back on the number of intrusions to the main format)
60s on 5 (concerns about playlist getting a bit tighter...as also seems to be the case with 50s on 5)
Air America (I'm politically independent, but get fed up with the dominance of right wingers on terrestial)
Escape (strictly for purposes of putting me to sleep. I'm dead serious!)
On the Rocks (now only available online...and presumably only in lower bandwidth once AOL drops XM)

I also like the news & sports stations, Luna, 40s, 70s, The classical channels, the country channels, Old Time Radio, and a few others. The problem...at least with the music channels...is the usually inferior audio qaulity from my two recievers and the streams xm's own website. Streaming via aol is much better, but that's going away May 1.

7-70's on 7 (when I hear the jingles, I can mentally plug in the local stations that used those packages)
6-60's on 6
8-80's on 8 (same thing as on the 70's)
9-90's on 9
26-Flight 26

Here are my Top 5 XM Radio Channels

1. WSIX (Channel 161), a GREAT Country music station from Nashville!
2. Top Tracks (Channel 46), GREAT early Classic Rock.
3. Nashville!!!!! (More GREAT Country music)
4. KISS (But, I wish they would get rid of that old-school crap and focus more on the current hits)
5. 70s on 7 (I love the real old American Top 40 shows)

If I could change two things about XM they would be:

1. Change the 20on20 Channel to Channel Z and offer less repeats.
2. Add WOBB(B100), a great Country music station from Albany, GA!!!!

As a big fan of XM's '50s on 5 I'm curious to learn what you consider to be "intrusions".

Pink & Black Days....Cool Bobby B....Harlem....Rockabilly....etc.

I like 'em all, but given the number of shows and the number of re-broadcasts, the regular format gets interrupted quite a bit.

my 5 presently:

Deep Tracks
Bone Yard
Big Tracks
Top Tracks
and what ever they call 144 (the sports one) for some of the racing stuff (though I've caught myself listening to Tony K and Dan Patrick some lately)

and I've got BOSTON, Moody Blues, Neil Young, Kansas, Styx, Genesis, Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, Traveling Wilburies, and Indigenous saved for bands in my Roady right now, so whatever channel those may pop up on I'll end up listening to for a while. I'll change up the bands/artists occasionally for variety (except for BOSTON amd Moody Blues - they're always in there). I love XM... ;D

Those are the shows that make 5 a good channel, without those"intrusions" it would become much worse and so predictable....oh, like terrestrial radio is.

1. XM 17--- Strait Country (I'm gonna miss it when it goes away at the end of the month) :-[
2. XM16--- Highway 16
3. XM 140--- ESPN Radio
