Just curious as to how the markets have changed since 1963.

Wheeling-Steubenville ranked ahead of Houston (1963)? Wow, strange, I never would have guessed.

Seeing that FCC article next to the 1963 list is certainly telling also, their opinion then of the TV landscape vs. now.
 
Keep in mind some of these markets have been split up or redrawn considerably over 50 years. It is hard to make an apples to apples comparison.
 
I'd think maybe within the next 10......just a guess.

Yes Wheeling does sound out of place. I guess it was a one way train out of there from 1960 on.
Maybe Pittsburgh got some of Wheeling's fringe areas (wikipedia said Pittsburgh stations were avilable in Wheeling) over time.
