What about 1610? Did TIS stations come in?

No TIS at 1610 here tonight. I am in a very rural area and the only signal I can discern is a religious type broadcaster at the noise floor.

I "think" I ID'd the 1610 as Caribbean Beacon, Anguilla, 1610
It is up and down with lots of fading. I can't solid confirm as I've not found a stream to confirm. However the programming and music seems to fit...

Have you ever heard anything on 1710? It can be an interesting frequency too with pirate stations and other low-power signals.

Nothing last night. I had not spun the dial in years and basically as a lark decided to do an audit of Top Band. Since I've been reading this forum, It's rekindled an old interest in MW DXing for me.

Feel free to post your reception on the "frequency of the week" threads. I have heard KKLF before around sunset up here in Vermilion, OH but usually 1700 is IBOC noise from WVON 1690/Chicago. Otherwise it's usually KBGG from Des Moines at night.

I would think that if you keep trying 1630 and null out your semi-local from Fort Worth, you'll eventually snag KCJJ from Iowa City. They get out pretty well at night, and are easy to ID because they're a music station (basically adult contemporary).

Thanks, Jay.

1620/WDND in South Bend IN is playing adult contemporary rock, paralleling 92.9 WNDV, and announcing as "U93".

If you can null College Station, the programming should make WDND identifiable.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. As a lark I had decided to give top band dxing a try with the 160m Delta Loop I use for transmitting and was surprised how well I was able to receive on MW. Since the Delta is a full size loop suspended from the tower it's pretty much "fixed" in it's current direction.

I am building a rotatable loop antenna and will work to see what else I can sniff out on top band.
Thanks again!!!

Jay Walker
