40 32 MIMS This Is Why I'm Hot 1366 964 402 8.976
Top 20. Nothing seperates this from Yung Joc "It's Goin Down" or Jibbs "Chain Hang Low" other than it features song samples. :(

26 24 RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS Face Down 2644 2251 393 14.277
Papa Roach "Scars" effect. :)

32 30 PINK U + Ur Hand 1856 1547 309 8.039
AWFUL song. She's releasing the worst songs possible IMO. I think "Nobody Knows" or "Long Way To Happy" should've replaced this trash.

39 34 CARRIE UNDERWOOD Before He Cheats 1342 1074 268 6.330
Not a country fan. Many CHR listeners will think the same. :(

33 31 AUGUSTANA Boston 1767 1501 266 7.891
Lyrics are stupid. :(

77 54 DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL Stolen 369 128 241 1.969
Very "The Reason". It's chart performance will be based on promotion. :D

i agree that pinks "long way to happy" should have/be released. in my opioin that is the best song off of that cd and is a sure fire #1

as for carrie underwood.....i think radio in general needs a break from this woman. let's have the second cd and see if she is a true artist or something we can thank simon for 8)

27 22 AKON Don't Matter 3191 2149 1042 26.215

24 16 TIMBALAND Give It To Me f/Furt... 3843 2973 870 27.842

OK

18 14 NICKELBACK If Everyone Cared 3991 3340 651 22.116
Good, but not the quality of "Photograph" or "Far Away"... should finish a little lower than "Savin' Me"... this album is going to get to 6x Platinum in the not too distant future...

31 29 OMARION Ice Box f/Timbaland 2064 1638 426 16.641
Garbage

30 28 LLOYD You f/Lil Wayne 2148 1742 406 19.222

40 32 MIMS This Is Why I'm Hot 1366 964 402 8.976
ABSOLUTE CRAP!!!

26 24 RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS Face Down 2644 2251 393 14.277
OK

32 30 PINK U + Ur Hand 1856 1547 309 8.039
Not very good... though better than that "Mr. President" track... BIG flop of an album... disappointing!

39 34 CARRIE UNDERWOOD Before He Cheats 1342 1074 268 6.330
Easily the best of this crop... CROSSOVER SMASH... following in the footsteps of Keith Urban and Rascal Flatts... CHR listeners WANT to hear these Country crossovers... it's a shame the CHR programmers aren't as receptive to Country songs as they were pre-Dixie Chicks incident... and this is another album that will soon be 6x Platinum... 2 of the top 3 selling CD's last year were country CD's... wonder why that was???

33 31 AUGUSTANA Boston 1767 1501 266 7.891
Great song!

77 54 DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL Stolen 369 128 241 1.969
So so

Wow... sometime I wonder if the people on here are thinking like a CHR female or just speaking from what THEY like.

Carrie Underwood is a PROVEN smash. That song is a monster where it's played. It may not fit on some stations, but it's a #1 song for stations that would play any country at all. You don't have to be country to love this song. She is pop. And 100% familiar thanks to Idol.

Dashboard will be huge too... not sure what you meant about the promotions... but it'll call out. It'll take time though.

Mims fills a need. There is NO rap on the chart besides Ludacris. And hardly any urban crossover. It's catchy... it's fun... it'll be here then it'll go away.

Exactly.

And there's I Wanna Love You, Give It To Me, Break It Off, She's Like The Wind, Tell Me, On The Hotline, Make It Rain, and Throw Some D's.....

And "Before He Cheats" has been #1 in call-out at CHR/Pop at least 2 weeks straight now... if anyone has the numbers for previous weeks, please post them or let me know... thanks!

The female audience loves the Carrie Underwood track. This is 2007, they aren't thinking "country" any more than they're thinking you're a hiphop station because you're spinning Timbaland. It's the SONG making the connection here. Do any of you posting here actually program CHR stations? Actual rated ones?

The problem with the song is the same problem with "What Hurts The Most". It'll be top 5, even #1 on many station playlists. But some stations that would never touch the song because some markets just don't gel with country. I just don't see this song working in many markets. (typically larger ones like L.A. (KIIS), Chicago (WKSC), Detroit (WKQI), Phoenix (KZZP), etc.)

CHR/Mainstream Pop/Re: top CHR added this week (2/22/07)

The Carrie Underwood sucks. It's so [EDIT]Country and annoying. It's a lighter version of that rednack Gretchen Wilson. I'm VERY happy that stations like KIIS-FM are avoiding it like a plague. This is CHR radio, not female truckers radio.
If you want a good crossover Country song go with the Wreckers or Dixie Chicks. That's abut it.

The other songs listed: Akon - Smash, smash, smash. This is the type o record CHR radio ca give 90 spins a week to and it'll still sound great.
Timbaland - smash.
Gym Class Heroes - Annoying.
Nickleback - keep this record on Hot A/C.
Omarion - hot!
Lloyd - hot
Mims - okay. Medium spins
Red Jumpsuit Appratus - hot hot hot. Youthful, energetic, good lyrics.
Pink - hot. A true female anthem, for those that actually listen to POP music, not stale Country crap. A lot of girls have ad this as their myspace anthem for months now.
Carrie Underwood - I hope he cheats on her with every girl in town, LOL
Augustana "Boston - okay, at best. Sounds better on Hot A/C
Dashboard Confessional - okay

[EDIT-profanity]

Carrie Underwood has worked very well for us. It's #1 national callout with a Net Positive of around 10% more than the #2 song (What Goes Around). It's a great female record and a smash... and it's not perceived as country as much in our market. Some stations would rather play Mims or some other mid-range rhythmic record than a record that should be a hit..

CHR has always been a format that has a mix of whats POPular in the current climate. And for a lot of us, that's Carrie Underwood and the Wreckers. It's about the listeners. If that's what our target is digging, we'd be foolish not to play it.

Sometimes I think this board confuses their own personal taste with what the CHR audience actually wants to hear.

Exactly, its about the listeners. And these two songs test well in some markets. But the listeners vary from market to market more than you'd think. Yes Carrie Underwood and The Wreckers are two popular country acts. But certain stations will not play these songs because its almost a fact that country is very hit or miss on different stations. For example many small and southern markets will play these two acts very heavily. But larger and more urban markets (like the ones I mentioned earlier) will not do well with these tracks and haven't done well with country records (whether it be "Live Like You Were Dying", "What Hurts The Most", etc). And if they haven't, they still won't.
