1) AKON - Don't Matter: This board is owned. Told you this was gonna be huge.
2) CHRISTINA AGUILERA: Candyman: Will match the chart success and gains of Jennifer Lopez "Get Right".
3) MIMS - This Is Why I'm Hot: A member of D4L goes solo...how exciting...
4) HILARY DUFF - With Love: Killer song.
5) DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL - Stolen: Killer song.
6) NE-YO - Because Of You: Killer song.
7) PAPA ROACH - Forever: Killer song.
8 ) FRAY - Look After You: Possibly the worst soft rock song I've heard thus far in 2007.
9) LUMIDEE F/TONY SUNSHINE - She's Like The Wind: As long as Lumidee raps and doesn't sing...she's tolerable. Tony Sunshine is what sells the song though.
10) PINK - U + Ur Hand: Absoultely awful.
11) ROBIN THICKE - Lost Without U: Killer song.

1) AKON - Don't Matter - Nothing special for me. Probably Top 10 though.
2) CHRISTINA AGUILERA - Candyman - Hopefully Top 10. Nice change of pace from typical Top 40 fare!
3) MIMS - This Is Why I'm Hot - Terrible song! Top 20 at best.
4) HILARY DUFF - With Love - Here music career needs a boost. This song won't do it! Top 30...maybe.
5) DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL - Stolen - Probably Top 20 at best, but deserves higher.
6) NE-YO - Because Of You - Haven't heard yet, but probably Top 20 because he's NE-YO.
7) PAPA ROACH - Forever - Hopefully Top 20.
8 ) FRAY - Look After You - Should be another smash! Top 10 at the very least.
9) LUMIDEE F/TONY SUNSHINE - She's Like The Wind - A hatchet job of a song that wasn't that great to begin with! However, judging by early airplay, probably Top 10.
10) PINK - U + Ur Hand - This is about Pink's ninth best song to be released. Therefore, probably will do no better than Top 30.
11) ROBIN THICKE - Lost Without U - Agreed, great song! Should be Top 10 if there is any justice. And yes, this would be one more hit than his dad ever had (yes, Alan Thicke is his dad!)!

Other ones getting buzz...

Beyonce/Shakira - Beautiful Liar: Average fair to me. I'll probably do very well, but it's not all that. And it's lacking a hook.

Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend: The song you tell everyone you hate but you blast it alone.

Incubus - Dig: Good debut on Mediabase and a killer song, if DC's "Stolen" does good this will as well.

You're kidding, right? This is the audio equivalent of agent orange. There is nothing good about this song, from its bubblegum sound and horrendous lyrics to its cheesy video, and it's an early front runner for Worst Song Of 2007. I hope this spells curtains for Avril Lavigne's poor excuse for a music career and that she drags her pipsqueak husband down with her. Isn't the subject matter pathetic? I mean, you're 22 and married. This song would be acceptable coming from Hannah Montana (sans the MF word of course), but coming from anyone old enough to drink it's downright embarrassing.

Yeah, the song is catchy - but so are any of the songs on Barney & Friends. Certainly doesn't make it good.

Have you heard "Sk8erboi"? Last time I checked that went to #1 for a couple of weeks back in '03.

Catchniess is everything on CHR whether you like it or not. If it doesn't have a hook it'll go out a listener's ear and out the other. And this one has a killer hook and completely aims at her core audience--teen girls. It's a fun, summery record. RCA did a smart move with this song. Yes, its very "Hollaback Girl", but was it not successful?

First of all, "Girlfriend" makes "Sk8erboi" look like "Stairway To Heaven" or "Paranoid Android" by comparison.

Second, I think the song is too dumb and cheesy even by CHR standards. Ever wonder why Aaron Carter never had any big hits on the format despite his shocking popularity? Remember the heavily hyped teen singer Skye Sweetnam - you know, the one with the "Billy Shakespeare" song? That song was damn catchy too, but idiotic to the point that it went nowhere.

I don't know - maybe the times are changing. Hip-hop has really dumbed down (its nadir being Jibbs' abysmal "Chain Hang Low"), and Gwen Stefani and Fergie are fixtures on the chart. This song might wind up being huge and catching on, but there's no doubt that she's going to lose the fans that bought into the more mature (relatively speaking) sound of her last album.

If you're talking about Skye Sweetnam's hits like "Tangled Up In Me", those song didn't do well because they had nothing to back them up. No advertising, nothing strong before it. And I found nothing of that band catchy.

This song "Girlfriend" is much like Gwen's "Hollaback Girl", Fergie's "London Bridge Oh Snap!", or Nina Sky's "Move Ya Body". Maybe not the same genre, but similar formula--mindless insanely-catchy songs that are fit for the summer. It's been done before, but this is the song that's playing in your car and you turn it up to max volume. Yes it is a mass-catch-song that gets bumped May through August, but songs like that have proven to do very well. And even I find myself loving songs like this. As far as it being bubblegum, well, that IS CHR, or was I told wrong? This song aims directly at teen females (and 12-year old goths but that's another point) which is what the CHR core audience is.

Bottomline, catchy summer bubblegum-punk song. It should do very well on the charts, but that's not to say anyone will care for it a year down the line.

Hilary Duff - With Love = Great song, probally too dance for pop though

Wow, the only thing worst then the new Avril LaVigne song, "Girlfriend", was watching the the video for it. Barf! Appearantly her music is shallower then Britney Spears, and this song is even dumber then her hit "Sk8er Boy". It's a shame really, just as I was starting to like Avril with "Keep Holding On".
