Gary Saber-As smart as they come and just as strange but I like the guy.
Richard Banks-Great engineer,great computer guy has always been nice to me.

Doug Ferris-Genius who once you get to know him is a really good person.A guy who if I'm ever in a dark alley I want him to be my bodyguard.A big teddy bear

Carl Lineburger-Engineer at my first station.Very good AM guy.
Al Cannon-Been my friend since 1984.Good engineer,great with computers.A very good air talent.
Mickel Pruden-Good engineer moody as hell but he did good work.
Gene Gray-Very good with AM's.My first boss.I hope he is well.Made me aware of minimum wage($3.35 per hour in July 1983)
Gene Brown-Super guy.Truly a nice person.
Bill Cope-Maybe the smartest guy i've ever met.Best web guy around.He so intelligent he is scary.Very nice.1250 should drop to its knees and thank God
they have him and tell him everyday how much they appreciate him.

These are just a few of the many engineers i have had the pleasure to work with
I admire these people so much.Alot of times they don't get the credit they deserve.We should all realize how important they are to each station.Some times I think some people in radio take them for granted.I have seen what a tough job they have.

Allen Kass used to be the chief engineer at the old WISP/WQDW in th 1970's and 80's. Last I heard he was in Richmond and that was 10 years ago.

Roy McCoury is now is east Tenn, but when he was in Kinston/Greenville he and I built and moved stations. The guy was amazing! I would tell him what I wanted and he would deliver! He was an ops guys dream!

I know I'm forgetting some.

Ernie Swanson Great guy, friend and a great engineer. He was over worked and underappreciated when he worked for us here in Rocky Mount. But just make sure you have th rest of the day to do nothing he can be a little chatty, but I like him. He was the only one at the station to actually see my abilities and talents and let me help him on a few projects. I hated to see him leave and I never got a chance to say goodby. He now lives in his home state of Wisconsin the last I heard.

Matt Lightner great guy and engineer too. His work is top notch!

Van Clough super nice and also a great engineer. He's helping me get on Media Touh support team someday.

Pat Couch a good friend, super nice and he knows is stuff. I haven't seen him in years. Last I heard he was in Philly at Greater Media.

All engineers are underappreiciated until something goes wrong and the station is off the air. They are the unsung heores who put in weird hours and can make a toaster do the cha-cha. I wish I had their knowledge and talent.
 
Ernie was a great guy.I really think the world of him.The way he was treated by some at First Media when he hurt himself was really crappy.The true measure of a friend is how they treat you when you have troubles and I was truly embarrassed by the lack of caring some people had when Ernie was in bad shape.Very sad.Ernie is class act and i hope to reconnect with him soon.

Yes it was and I regret not going to see him, but at the time I was busy. I believe I sent him a card though.
 
Another vote for Van Clough. He was the only engineer I got to spend time with in my short time in NC, but he really knew his stuff.
 
Jeff Garner was the best .... At being a walking dildo. I actually saw him kick a computer cause it didn't work.
