Top Morning Shows In Seattle

Right now in almost every male demo it is BJ Shea, in every female demo it is Kent and Alan. Add in Bob Rivers, NPR, KIRO-FM when you go to broader adult demos. Competition is greater today double the stations compared to the 60's and 70's with FM, move-ins etc. Given that, a group of us were discussing the top hosts in Seattle of all time. Pat Oday's name came up, but someone said he was only on the air for ten or 15 years. Bob Hardwick and Larry Nelson (before my time), Larry Lujack(a short Seattle run), Gary Lockwood (before my time) Charlie Brown, Robin and Maynard and Ichabod's name's were mentioned. Does any of the current talent qualify or is it too soon.

If Seattle had a radio announcers HALL OF FAME. Who gets entry?

Seattle DOES have a "hall of fame" ... Crystal Soundie Award given by PSRBA honored both programming and sales stars for many years. Not sure it still happens, though.

Yep, they still hand out Soundies. I always considered it advertiser-centric though and has relatively little to do with personality, BUT each year they do induct into the hall of fame.

Larry Nelson was so damn good (although you could never imagine him using that kind of language). He made what we all know is so difficult sound completely effortless. Not enough ooo's in "smooth" to describe ol' Lar.
Now, Robin and Maynard were something extra special; my vote for the best Seattle morning show of all time.
Bob Rivers? Probably the best currently but he gets a lot of solid support from a fantastic team.

Here's a who's-who of Puget Sound radio/TV stars, past and present. And where they are today. (Thank you Jason Remington.)....
