Tornado Coverage

We had some very strong tornadoes go through Mississippi. I saw the kinescope of the weather guy at WTVA telling everyone to take cover and then did so himself. I heard Dave Roberts tell everyone who was watching Channel 3 and 40 about those in the newsroom who took cover while he and Micheal Haynes carried on with coverage. I flipped the channel and saw David Hartman switch radar feeds while the Tornado went through Brandon. But the best thing I heard was on WMER when Ken Michaels took everyone on a brief radio tour of the damage reports in the Station's coverage area in the second hour of his show Tuesday morning. This is how I learned about the Tornado damage in Morton and around Conehatta, Newton, and Decatur. It is all gone now to torment people east of us. There has to be some very good moments in weather coverage the last two days, so if anyone wants to add anything feel free

I miss local radio in Forest and it would have been handy just now. I learned about what happened around Forest through the Newspaper. We came so close to having a funnel cloud on the ground it was not even funny. Those of you who survived should pray to the Lord thanking him for letting you live another day. To get back to the topic, the lack of information in a small town is regrettable but is par for the course. It seems like we lose something when that local voice disappears like WQST-AM did on AM. I know they are on the Internet but it still is not the same.
