tos's signal

I was listening this morning around 10 am and right before the signal went dead the song that was playing that
went from regular quality to a crummy internet stream quality then crashing. a minute later a noise of a dial-up modem went on and now its just dead air. any ideas whats going on?

If they went dead air but you still had a signal, I'm willing to bet it's most likely an STL issue.

If it had been a power outage, you probably would've either

A.) Noticed all the other stations in the cluster transmitting dead air
B.) Notice all the other stations in that cluster with no carrier

their signal is now clearer than ever.. apparently rushman said that Fish the egeneer put new digital audio equipment. tonight now its audio that skips every few seconds Is anyone on this board hearing what I am? music that skips like a data stream trying to buffer?

They may have had a failure in some of the systems and they are using an alternate backup. There is now equipment that uses the internet and DSL for audio data transport. I believe it's main use would be for remote interviews or sports but in a pinch could be used as a back-up link.

Just a guess...
