Total Incompetance at RT81

Who else tuned to 94.3 last night and heard [again] nothing but dead air for hours on end. The wife had it programmed in the car and I damn near blew my speakers out of the dash when I discovered that my radio was really on but the station was off. Thats bad enough but the real icing on the cake was this morning when the Bob and Tom show aired comlete with traffic,weather,and local commercials all from Indianapolis! Bob and Tom until 8 this morning. Then more dead air then John Tesh. Bob and Tom discussing butt cracks and sphincter transplants for a few hours and then WAM, John Tesh is talking about Holy Thursday. Talk about intellegence for your life! But wait theres more! Saturday at 7pm WCDL switched from Spanish [at least they were on the air for a change] to Fox news then to Dick Clark Rock and roll and remember??? Sunday morning was back to Spanish.
It is very apparent that no one is home at Rt81. They don't care or they don't know. Either way whoever runs that ship deserves to have their head handed to them. I'm sure they have 100 excuses lined up but there is really no excuse for this other than total incompetance. And to think that this stuff comes out of what amounts to hallowed ground in these parts. The old WARM building! Everybody cries about how radio is losing respect and share. The RT81's of the world give radio in general a black eye. By the way, did they compensate their advertisers for the missed spots? Did they notify the Tesh network or Bob and Tom? What about all the missed legal station ids?

Yes it does but it isn't something a $6.50 an hour eager beaver kid/board op/radio guy/gal couldn't cure!

Read any of the trades. Given the opportunity Lyra passes himself off as a second generation broadcaster when in reality he never was a broadcaster at all. Lyra is a salesman and a pretty good one at that. He has sold himself as a broadcaster when in reality he is simply a salesman of whatever commodity he happens to have at the time. Unfortunately it seems that his product of choice has been radio and the path of destruction that he has left is quite wide. He probably could have been a pretty good used car salesman. Lyra knows nothing more about a radio station than how to wring the very life out of it a penny at a time. Heed the warning. Never look directly into his eyes. He will stare you down and then strike like a cobra. Luckily you can easily tell if he is lying to you. His lips are moving.
 
Happens on CATV, too. Was watching Law & Order on USA Friday night. Had the picture & sound freeze like a DVD, going into a loop. Moved on to something else, but that was frozen for over 2 hours, maybe more. Lots of lights-out operations out there with no human backup.....

That is most defiantly a local cable operation problem, and not the network itself. No major cable network would have that happen to them for such a long period of time.
