Total viewership by night of week

Greetings,

Can anyone direct me to a source for average television viewership totals by night of week for each of the past ten or so TV seasons. I'm trying to document something I heard a few years ago that Sunday and Monday nights are traditionally the highest rated. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Actually, Thursday is usually the big day after Sunday, since many movie studios want to feature their weekend movies, etc.

Not sure I understand your movie studio statement. Are you saying the studios premiere movies on Fridays because of the big television audience watching their ads on Thursday nights?

Also, I would still like to know where I can see the actual statistics on night-by-night viewer averages.

Right. The movie studios love Thursday. That's always been THE night to advertise the upcoming weekend blockbuster, etc. As for Thursday otherwise, look how badly NBC once dominated that night. Now they're no better than third with "The Office" getting destroyed both "CSI" on CBS and "Grey's Anatomy" on ABC.
