I know Ive asked the question and others have asked the question on here about what happend to Channel 3's first helicopter. Well heres a picture of the helicopter sitting in the field near the station after crash landing and a report from the NTSB

The crash happend on September 11, 1979 when a piece of photo equipment (likely a camera) got stuck behind the rudder pedals and the helicopter spun out of control crash-landing in a field next to the station's studio. KTVK said the helicopter was just leased to them was shooting promotional pictures of the valley and of the copter. The pilot was Richard Leighton, 35 and cameraman Luis Olivas, 23 walked away from the hard landing uninjured.
Heres also a NTSB report http://www.ntsb.gov/ntsb/brief.asp?ev_id=34029&key=0
