Totally fictional ... but amusing

Can you do San Francisco?

I love to know about Radio Stations back then, But have no idea where to start
This is my go to site for SFBA radio history. The 'Stations' link in the menu has not only the early history of many stations, but airchecks, pics of station memorabilia. I easily can spend several hours roaming around this site!

Best way to find results like these is to already know a handful of callsigns from the era you're interested in. Search Google for all of them at the same time, in the same query, with each callsign "quoted" and with verbatim search mode enabled. If you do that, you'll get results consisting almost purely of station lists of various kinds. The above links, for example, were found via these two searches:

and
https://www.google.com/search?q="KMPX"+"KNBA"+"KOIT"+"KPEN"+"KROW"&tbs=li:1

Oh my! I think it's a lot easier to go to this one excellent history site. You're really overthinking this.

The easiest way is to go to RADIO LOG BOOKS - Radio station logbooks and listings from 1923 to 2022.

There, by year, you will find station lists from multiple sources going back to the 1920's.

Or look for the Broadcasting Yearbook issues from 1935 onward with lots of details on each station.

I was showing a convenient method of finding undiscovered sources for this kind of information so people could research beyond known information clearinghouses like bayarearadio.org and David's sites. But yes, I agree they are both excellent sources.
