Toucher and Rich a month later.

I listened to them all last week, they have energy at least. I think they'll definately strike a chord with wbcn's P1's the rest of the market though, the jury is still out on that one. Some funny bits, "Goth olympics" I thought was clever!. They're not re-inventing the wheel but they've given a sense of fun to a station that has sounded very sterile and flat for a while. Good luck to them! 8)
 
They need less commercials if they're gonna grow as fast as they'd like.
 
Good to see Smoke agreeing with me on the too many commercials thing from a post way back. Not only are the commercials overwhelming, some of the skits are falling flat. You gotta come out of the gun with the best stuff, they're acting as if they're already a hot commodity. That Boston Herald article was too flattering - they've yet to earn it. BUR and college stations have my attention again. I just don't have time to listen to them day in and day out to hope they get better. Say what you will, Parenteau had a smoother delivery than anyone in that time slot that has followed. And with Opie & Anthony in the mornings actually bringing some numbers in, this is the time T & R really have to shine. It's just not happening for this listener...

Oh let's be fair though: Bitching about the spot load on a show is like blaming Ronald McDonald if your big mac wasn't piping hot when you took it out of the box, Toucher and Rich have no say in what spots run, or how many run in their show so it's not something that anyone can blame them for. On the bright side with all of the recent comments made about WBCN's billing problems including a shot taken in the trades by Ron Valeri about bcn's sales staff starving or words to that effect, it's a good sign that there are a good number of spots. Afterall that is what commercial radio is there for, it's purpouse is not to expose people to the great song by Country Joe and the Fish or whoever else, it's goal is to sell spots, the more the better. So from a business perspective it's great for BCN but if the show is GOOD enough the spot load doesnt matter. Howard Stern had 17 plus minute spot breaks for years and people always came back if they turned away at all. The "there's too many commercials they wont build an audience that way" idea is not accurate at all........... Plus in the end it is out of the talent's hands to begin with.
 
I've been listening fairly often, and I like them. It's a nice change of pace when someone horrible is on The Big Show, or when Sheppard is hosting.

The one thing that is really annoying though, I know it's suppose to be funny, but it soooo isn't, is Adolpho singing the impromptu intro to a bit.
