Toucher and Rich the end ?

It's only speculation right now based on the announcement being specifically for Toucher's extension, without mention of Rich, and Rich's Twitter handle changing from @toucherandrich to @heyrichhey. Honestly, I could see them keeping Rich in Boston, at another station.

Meaning a return to music radio? WBOS or a station with actual listeners, albeit playing music that may not be in his wheelhouse -- mornings at 'ROR or 'KLB?

Going off his work history, I could see him at WBOS or WROR, but not necessarily WKLB. He has history of working on Kidd Kradick's show and working at Alt-Rock stations. Anything for me to say beyond that is all speculation. I rather not create rumors based on my own fan fiction. Just that historically, I could see him fitting in at both WBOS and WROR.

Let us not forget, the syndication push to the rest of New England didn't pan out. Does this have anything to do with it?

Oh, for Chrissakes...

1) WROR already has a morning show. It's quite successful.
2) WBOS already has a morning show. It's quite successful.
3) WKLB literally just brought back their laid-off morning show host last week.
4) Losing two affiliates isn't the syndication push "not panning out." But it has driven home the lesson that small market people are afraid of something different, and that media buyers in those places lend little to no credence to what listeners might want, only what they want.

Who said anything about mornings? I stated that in Boston I could see him at two specific stations, based on his work history. I refused to say anything else specifically because it would be a fan fiction rumor with no evidence to support it. Furthermore, no other member made such a declaration.

Not me, but that's what I was thinking. PM drive would work, too, I suppose.
Just updated my last post. I left it vague because there was absolutely no evidence to prove what is exactly happening. For all we know, he could be staying at WBZ-FM in a new role, retire, move to another market, start a podcast, go to work for SiriusXM, create a CB handle. It's all speculation.

That's why I left it vague. The only evidence I had was the article from Lance; which simply stated that Fred extended his contract, and that the only thing known of Rich is that he changed his Twitter name. Thinking of a reference to mornings anywhere was an assumption made by the reader, and wrongfully implied as my claim. I specifically stated that based on Rich's job history, that I think could fit in (has experience) at WROR and WBOS. That's all.

1) WROR already has an afternoon show. It's quite successful.
2) WBOS already has an afternoon show, hosted by a personality currently heard on the Sports Hub. It's quite successful.

Guys, Beasley is not going to break up its wildly successful heritage morning show just to have one of the guys talk up intros by himself on another station, especially not while displacing the talented people in those dayparts now.

Again, statements were said to be vague because there is no evidence beyond the initial report, and that there were no assumptions being made. I threw out a hypothetical that Rich could be successful on several stations in Boston, should he be leaving The Sports Hub. That's all it was. You're jumping into a debate that doesn't exist.

Lots of speculation here. There is documented evidence of disputes between them. The recent one is mentioned in this story:

Here's a story from May:

Where could Rich go? How about WEEI? That would rile people up.

You'd think his contract with Beasley would include a substantial non-compete. Six months of "vacation," then 'EEI?

Have the courts been striking non-competes down in the entertainment/media field lately?

Since it’s a mass statute, I don’t think theres been a case that been challenged in the mass courts nor to to the SJC.

At issue is wether you are paid/compensated for the period of non-compete.

Non competes are enforceable, in many cases, if it includes compensation to sit out. Where they become iffy is if no compensation is offered, as previous employers generally cant make a past emplyoee unable to make a reasonable living.

I had to sign one at one place, under a bit of duress, 50 mile radius of the station.. good, i knew the stations and operators within 50 miles, i wouldnt wanna work for them anyways.,

When one person left to a competitor 60 miles away, we then had to sign one under duress "sign of youre fired" that extended the non compete to 150 miles. That included a state where non competes without compensation were ruled unenforceable, so i didnt worry about it too much...... plus it was a station where i really learned alot about being a jock and social media, so i just dealt with it
