Toucher & Rich vs. Dennis & Callahan - Boston Globe

Dennis & Callahan could only create compelling radio again by setting each other on fire.

I thought the difference between T&R and D&C was about fifty years?

But the post is from the Boston Sports Blog written by Boston.com's Eric Wilbur which is a web site owned by the Boston Globe.

It won't happen but here's what should happen. Barry Armstrong moves to Bloomberg 1200. WRKO puts Dennis and Callahan on in the morning to talk politics. Jeff Kuhner moves to the 9 to Noon slot before Rush. EEI develops a new morning show with Kirk Minihane at the helm.

The Boston Globe, which is owned by the NY Times. But, you wouldn't say it is from the Times, would you? The company has recently increased the distinction between .com and the Globe, and not just because of the paywall. The editing is separate. It is highly unlikely that Wilbur would ever appear in the Globe.

meanwhile tweet by @bostonradio

>>1510 is going to muscle in on 93.7 and 98.5 shortly. They'll be all local sports from 6am thru PM Drive. And Sox in Spanish at nite.

I don't know if Ent & CBS are shaking in their boots over the competition on AM, but we'll see.
...Ordway... ??(who knows brokered time?)
Tweet got a couple responses:

--Diablo_Sandwich ‏@Eharrington1
@bostonradio - They wont muscle in on anything as long as they are 1.) AM, and 2.) On a lousy signal.

--Mike Neff ‏@mneff2
@bostonradio you think so? I was listening this morning and the signal... Yikes.

Any article written by an employee of the Globe or Times about Dennis & Callahan has to be taken with a little skepticism. That organization hates Republicans in all forms, be it political, entertainment, or sports. It's like reading an article by Ron Borges about Bill Belichick.

Also, what aspects of John Dennis' demeanor signify that he's defeated? I don't watch the simulcast, but he doesn't sound any different to me.

more on 1510 from @bostonradio

The DieHards are moving to Noon next week. Sports Stamp(6a-8am). Danny Picard's I'm Just Sayin(8am-10a), a local show(10a-Noon)
.The afternoon drive show will be backed by a 'sports content' provider. Maybe CSNNE or NBC Sports. Will have details l8r
Danny Picard's show is very hockey heavy so the puckheads will be happy with 10 hours a week of puck-moving defenseman talk :)

As for signal as has been pointed out there's always TuneIn app etc

wilburs bio says he has appeared in the globe

http://boston.about.com/bio/Eric-Wilbur-60581.htm

Eric's work has appeared in The Boston Globe, The Globe's OT Sports Magazine, on Foxsports.com, NESN.com, The New England Ski Journal, and Boston.com, where he writes travel and sports. He is the sole author of The Boston Sports Blog on Boston.com, for whom he has covered two Super Bowls, a World Series, and skiing throughout New England.

But you do notice that the bio distinguishes between writing for boston.com and the Globe, right? You can comprehend that? It didn't appear in the Globe or on bostonglobe.com.

Possibly, but in this case it can be taken as gospel. Because it is backed up by fact, with some opinion thrown in, but the fact remains that D&C are going down down down in the ratings, they are not the supreme rulers anymore and that T&R are way better than them....and again, that is backed up by ratings, which is also known as "facts"

And even though this is about the hosts and not their fans, I will throw this in because a shows fan base pretty much shows the type of people the hosts are.

When Rich came back from his time off being with his sick wife, they (T&R) received numerous texts from D&C fans gloating the fact that his wife was sick and hoped she would get worse...which btw she didn't, she kicked cancers @$$ and won! :)

This sounds personal. Do you work for TSH? Or did you work for 'EEI? I harbor no ill will toward T&R(or their spouses). I've listened to them a couple times and they are funny and entertaining, but they simply are not a sports show, at least as far as I'm concerned. If they were a sports show I would probably listen a lot more. Even though I agree with his politics, I acknowledge that Callahan can be an insufferable jerk. I'd like an alternative. I'd really like an alternative from 10-2. As horrible as Muttnansky is, TSH has somebody worse in Gresh. Consequently, I listen to 105.7.

Are they going to have an on-line presence with a web site that is actually updated with a Listen Live link?
