Toucher Unhappy with Rodney

I guess Fred Toucher doesn't think Rodney has given him a fair shake. Calling Rodney names was humorous, but Toucher reading Rodney's column in his best "Hop Sing" voice was just wrong. Funny, but wrong.

If he has to resort to mocking my nationality circa 1958, fine with me. All in good fun!

99X had a bad book. And I reported it. Sadly, with 30 radio stations and 15 inches of space to write, I seldom have the ability to provide massive amounts of context for any single station's results. If people want more nuance, they can read my blog. Given the way Arbitron works, 99X will bounce back in the fall.

There's no doubt the Toucher, Leslie & Jimmy show as the beacon of light for the station, remaining no. 3 18-34 male. The station drops off in other dayparts. And the slipping 12-plus numbers (19th) and 320,000 cume, plus 4:30 TSL (26th in the market), simply shows the station has lost the broader appeal it had back in the 1990s. It really begs the question: does Atlanta have enough listeners to handle four rock stations long term? The fact is very few major markets have two alternative rock stations.

He read the column in a mock-Asian voice...how novel.

Question: Has ******r ever done anything is his entire career that wasn't first done by Howard Stern?

Good observation. I generally tire of Howard's "I did it first" routine; as if he's the only guy who ever did something funny or outrageous. Nevertheless, I've been a Stern fan for 20 years or so, occasionally able to listen to current shows...and...Toucher blatantly rips him off, right down to the joke and timing. Sad. He won't be able to do it much longer...Sirius-ly.

And the Asian with a "Mistah Ma-gloo" accent is only funny when done by former NY Senator, Alphonse D'Amato.

Well, you don't have to look too far to find them; the Granny Fram and Eddie Munster are on 99X, and Big Bland Barnes is on Dave...just keep hitting scan until it sounds like they're doing a show together.

That is the funniest comment I have read here in a long time. Awesome.

I don't listen to him much. He wouldn't say you claimed to have 15 inches, would he?

Would he?
