If he has to resort to mocking my nationality circa 1958, fine with me. All in good fun!
99X had a bad book. And I reported it. Sadly, with 30 radio stations and 15 inches of space to write, I seldom have the ability to provide massive amounts of context for any single station's results. If people want more nuance, they can read my blog. Given the way Arbitron works, 99X will bounce back in the fall.
There's no doubt the Toucher, Leslie & Jimmy show as the beacon of light for the station, remaining no. 3 18-34 male. The station drops off in other dayparts. And the slipping 12-plus numbers (19th) and 320,000 cume, plus 4:30 TSL (26th in the market), simply shows the station has lost the broader appeal it had back in the 1990s. It really begs the question: does Atlanta have enough listeners to handle four rock stations long term? The fact is very few major markets have two alternative rock stations.
