99X management are bunch of idiots. They're letting a great talent slip away. It reminds me of Jerry Glanvil (F*****G idiot), trading Brett Favre to Greenbay. Anyone remember that? If any of you in charge of 99X are out there on this board, why don't you hire Toucher, Rich and Crash, and blow away the Atlanta morning comedy/talk competition?

Well if their show last night is any indication on what kind of show they could put on daily, I think it would be wise for 99x to grab them, well thats if Free FM phoenix dosen't grab em first! What do they say first impressions are everything? Well my first impression last night was Awesome Show!

Toucher is always awesome. He's hampered by Fram who adds Nada to the comedy bits and often takes steps in to tone things down. The TJL show would be much better if it was just TJW plus crash. I hate to say it cuz I like Jimmy, but I think Toucher Rich and crash might be the best idea. Of course I hold little hope that the dumbass managers that fired Crash would be smart enough to make that choice. It's obvious they want politcally correct wimps running the show. Toucher just gives THE MAN the finger and I love it!

As a outsider looking in, can you give me a run down of these boys careers up until this point? Who worked where and who got fired when and all that jazz. Thanks

For about the first 9 years of 99x they had a very popular morrning show called the Morning X which featured Barnes, Leslie and Jimmy. Leslie was also the program director and is highly thought of in the alternative world. Rich was the stunt guy on the show for a couple of years and highly popular. He did some hysterical bits and was becoming more prominent on the show. Then when his contract was up they could not agree on a new contract and he left. He went to Dallas and went to work on the Kid Kraddock show but left in the last few months to pursue his own show.

Some time about 4 or 5 years ago Toucher took over the evening shift, 7 -12. He was amusing and as one of the younger jocks on the station was more relatable to the target audience. In October 2004 Barnes left the Morning X, declining rating and probably his unpopularity with the rest of the staff led to him not being re-signed. Toucher moved to morning and took his place and the show was re-named the Don Miller Morning Show. Leslie seemed to take a lesser role on the show and a "Show Director" named Wally was added. Leslie just turned 50 Jimmy is probably 43 - 44 so the show is not the most relatable to the target audience of the station. while Toucher is humorous Leslie casn tend to wrangle them in. The show has probably suffered too much from consultants. The name changed a couple times including twice in about week. Leslie was leaving the show and then came back, She hosted her own hour from 9 - 10 that was vt's and then the show went back to going to 10. Not really Toucher's fault but the show never really developed a rhythm. They are probably better now than they have been. they have done a good job developing other characters.

Now to Crash Clark. Crash worked at 99x on and off for over 10 years. I believe he was fired 3 times the last time in December. Crash was the traffic reporter in the morning and afternoon and also worked at sister staion Q100. Crash is the resident 40 year-old drunk. Always great for a story but his life is a wreck. He was fired this last time because at a promotion at a bar he gave away 311 tickets to a girl who was willing to take a guy at the bar into the bathroom and perform a sexual act on him. I guess the bar was not so happy and Crash was fired. Crash is popular with a loyal fan base.

IMHO Toucher was funny and fun to listen to on his night show, but not so much on the morning one. It's not just the cas around him either because he seems different since he joined the morning show.

yeah, well, I've always been a fan for the same reason I like Stern. He tells it like it is. Yes, I've never felt the need to post on a board about it cuz I figured a personality like his was gold for a radio station. Since I heard rumors of his departure, I've been concerned enough to check out places like this to see what the latest word on Toucher is.

Yes they are idiots, but letting him go is an easy choice. He has no talent, is not entertaining in the slightest, their ratings are in the toilet. Think that about sums up why they dont care if he would leave.<P ID="signature">______________

I'd rather be an idiot than some ass who still thinks that the 50's never ended. It's 2006 and you are still in the "Bop Shop." If it's modern you hate it, if it's cool, then you despise it. Fred is in touch with his generation and enterains them as such. There have only has 1 bad book which was the last one. The new owners are ultra conservative right wing radicals - they are the ones that banished the Dixie Chicks because they question the president. These people are scared of Fred because he speaks his mind. I think Fred and Crash are on the right track to get out while they can.

I lost all respect for you based on this post. How irresponsible. I've been browsing this board for about 6mos and have never posted anything before (didn't feel the need, plus I'm not in the industry) but why is it always a conspiracy with the "ultra right-wing"? Who are you, Hillary Clinton? No one ever takes into account someone in management's (maybe misguided) opinion about what they think the best direction for the show as far as RATINGS would be, not some personal vendetta. It all comes down to ratings, right?? Ratings. Not a f'ing conspiracy to dish a whole morning show over what one lone dude is going to say...or, to use your words, what they're "scared" about! Good grief. I'll really bet there's daily meetings at the new company about what to urgently do about one dj. Like him or not, it's not a "scared", political conspiracy. Move on to the merits of whether or not LISTENERS like him (ie ratings), and you'll be more on target.
