If you are that blind, than I don't want your respect. It's not a political conspiracy, it's their political ideology. You aren't in the industry, so you don't really get to hear what is happening. pity. The show rated in the top 3 shows for Men 18-34 - their core audience. Their last book was the first book in it's 2 1/2 years it placed below the Top 3. As stated before, 1 book doesn't make a trend. Arbiton is a statistical crapshoot of random listeners who have home telephones. A trend with most 18-34 year olds is that they don't use a home phone. I sure as hell don't need one. I believe that Arbitron is so skewed that the next book they will bounce back to the Top 3. No DJ ever gets fired for 1 bad book. Fred isn't fired yet, but it has been made well aware to him that he is being blamed for half the listenship leaving 99x. Cumulus has made it clear that they are don't want him on the air. I love how you called me Hillary Clinton. You couldn't be so wrong.

I have no idea what you said in those first sentences.

Fred is in touch with no one, every kid I know listens to TRGs in the morning and barely even know that 99 has a morning show. Even with TRGs gone, they still didnt do that great which speaks volumes about the show. Ummmmm, almost every country station bannished the dixie chicks and still do to this day.

When Fred speaks his mind, it is a short conversation.
______________

The problem here is the rating system for radio. IT SUX!! Noone really knows who's listening to what. It's just a big f'ing guess! I tend to agree that management is scared of toucher and Crash( hence the firing). They want to be as PC/ white bread as possible. That really pisses me off and it should piss off every american concerned about freedom of speech. The last thing we need are more steve and vickies out there!

You have no idea what he said - because it hit too close to home - ohh and by the way - TJL have consistently BEAT TRG since they have been back on. If Fred is soooooo talent-less in your mind - I wonder why people listen. Get you head out of the past.

We now rejoin this thread all ready in progress....
______________

The Atlanta market is in the buckle of the bible belt, and the southeastern hub of corporate America. The majority of people here don't want to be shaken up, and are perfectly happy being spoon fed lifeless, safe radio. So that's what they're given, and stations are making money by giving it to them. Regardless how you feel about Toucher, and Crash as talents. They would not last long in this market even if a station did give them a shot, and allowed them to do the show we all assume they would do.

Howard Stern never made it here, and they put a leash on The Regular Guys. I don't expect things to change any time soon. Be nice if it did though.
Wouldn't it?
______________

I've kind of felt that since he's been on the morning show he takes himself too seriously and the rants and "telling it like it is" comes across as contrived to me.

I agree with your argument, but fyi, Howard Stern has not, up until Sirius, been in the Atlanta market.

Hey homeslices...there is something even more than important ratings in the radio world, and that is revenue. Any company will take their products and adapt them to make MONEY!!!...it's not about free speech, or politics it's about making cash...and Top 3 18-34 Men...doesn't bring home the dough like a viable 25-54 product...PERIOD. That is why this show and this station will be something decidedly different in the near future. Cumulus spent a lot of money to get into the big market game, and they are not going to pin their hopes and their shareholders interest on a dying station with no direction. Show me the money!!!

I know. I should have been clearer about Howard. I know that some stations considered bringing him here, but were to afraid of the cross burnings, and sponsers running away faster than white flight in Clayton County.
______________
