Are there any crews left in Indiana that :
1) Show up when promised;
2) Show up sober;
3) Don't have kill problems current or recent;
4) That are affordable;
5) That retrun phone calls.
My old climber no longer climbs. Think he's 80 now. Retirement. And he is still in better shape than anyone half his age.
Two years ago I hired a reputable comapny to have a crew come in to paint a short tower. (Grey) "We have a crew doing work and want your business" Paid a fee upfront then to pay half at end of paint job.
I had at least 6 sub contractors for the reputable company show up to do the job, look at it, then promise to come back alter in the week after another job.
Finally after 8 months I call and a crew shows up. Brushes and paints the tower in 3 hours. 200 foot tower. Paint all over roof, cars, building, gravel, animals. Paint never dries on tower. Cows lick it off.
I send a letter outlining the problems. Paint still not dry.
Tower company spends 6 months asking why the bill isn't paid. I keep referring to the letter sent day after the paint job which has a warranty. Eventually (7 months) another crew shows up and brushes the tower one day then paints it the next. looks good now. I didn't get a bargain price on the job and didn't try to bid them down. This was a full rate full price job.
I have an antenna problem. High vswr bad signal. I called a crew who was to show up last week. The day they were supposed to be at the site and I was I finally called and left a message. No reply. Later caught someone live and was told another job slowed them. Another date goes by and I call and speak to a live person with no callback.
In the last 10 years this seems to be the norm. Are there two way companies, cell companies that do broadcast work? Looking for Eastern Indiana Central portion of the State.
