Tower is down at Beasley Road - WSFZ/WIIN/WOAD/WYOY-FM

Hey all -

Did anyone else notice that one of the three towers is down at Beasley Road for WSFZ/WIIN/WOAD/WYOY-FM?

I just saw it yesterday... not sure of the story there.

New South is in the process of buying WSFZ. I heard they are going to modify the nighttime power / pattern for WSFZ and were removing one of the towers that was part of the old WSFZ nighttime directional array. New South's engineer would be able to give you more details.

What does the future hold for WSFZ, now that NBC Sports Radio has moved to WIIN? Or will NBC Sports Radio return to WSFZ, when it does resume broadcasting?

I worked on both - wish they still had the original 4 tower array and that art deco transmitter building on State St. You could hear 930 like a local station at night in New Orleans.

The signal for WSFZ has been horrible for years. Lately the audiio has been really low. It barely makes it into South Jackson at night. The power line static has gotten so bad in some places the only thing you can pick up is WJDX and WJNT, Especially in Brandon along highway 80. Even then, AM in almost unlistenable due to static
