Tower Lighting Question

Noticed when driving past the 12 tower nighttime site of 1190 recently that only 6 of the towers were lit. My guess is that having the two on each end & the two in the middle lit is sufficent.

Is this the antenna farm just off of SH 276 in Rockwall? That sure is a sight to see when I drive out to Royse City to visit friends

Yep. It's Exit 69 , Mile Marker 71 on Intersate 30. There's a Carl's Truck Stop at the exit.

An example of it's highly directional pattern: If you head east on I-30 it fades out by mile marker 80.

Yeah I noticed the same thing, that's wild the pattern is that sharp.

They used to say the main lobe was aimed right down Elm in downtown Dallas, but it wouldn't hit the curbs...

Going north on 75 you could pull in the signal till you passed underneath the State hwy 121 over pass. Once you cleared the overpass the signal was gone.

Correction: It's Exit 70.

used to be highway (or FM?) 549. When I went out there the other day it was 3549. Guess Rockwall ran out of 3 digit county street numbers.
