Towers by I-94 Near Waukegan

Does anyone know what's on the towers on the west side of I-94 at milepost 12.5 near Waukegan?

As far as broadcast radio, 99.9 W260BL is up there. It's a translator for WLGS-LP in Lake Villa. When there is DX, sometimes it gets other stations.

WXLC also once had an Aux site there but it does not anymore.

It’s just a small tower farm. Nearly equidistance between the north and south borders of Lake County. It likely hosts a lot of municipal communications by the looks of it.

It’s been there since the mid 2000s I’m pretty sure, if not longer.

Kind of reminds me of the small tower farm on 94 in Racine County that hosts a mix of municipal communications, cellular, and one full power radio station. Also equidistance between the north and south boarder of the county. It use to host a full power TV station until the digital television transition in 2009. Google Maps

It's been there a long time. The Illinois Tollway has a tower there. I think there might be a HAM repeater or two there. There is 1 FM translator there. At one point many many years ago WXLC had an antenna there. Late 70s

As far as Racine County, the east tower is just WVTY. The west tower that WPXE was on has a ton of cellular
