Tracy Cloherty OUT At K-Rock

After just seven months on the job, she was let go as PD of WXRK, according to All Access. She's likely a victim of the massive cuts CBS Radio has made today across the board. Are O&A next? ???

Cloherty, of course, was previously PD at Hot 97 for many years.

She was just part of a CBS bloodletting that included Crys Quimby, Rick Martini, and countless others. It didn't help that she didn't move the needle at K-Rock, either.

"Victim"?

I never heard anything on K-Rock's air product that makes me wanted to listen past O&A. However, I've been fascinated with RXP to the point where I stopped listening to XM momentarily.

They also cut loose Rick Martini and Crys Quimby. Martini's exit really surprised me.

Part of me wants to say "good riddance" because she really hasn't done anything good for K-Rock. I'm inclined to think she should stick to Urban/Rhythmic. But then again, for all I know, maybe she was just having her strings pulled by CBS execs. And what will happen with the station now?

Not a good sign. First, Chiusano. Now, Cloherty. Altho', Chiusano left on his own accord.

The irony is, one flip I would have expected (although it was argued that it wouldn't make sense here with already four urban stations in the market) was 92.3 possibly flipping to an R&B format, but only under Ms. Cloherty's watch. Signs officially point to it not happening, but anything is possible - it is, after all, radio...

I would not be suprised of 92.3 goes Country. I Never Liked Tracy since Hot97. 7 Months at Krock is about 6 months too long

Bye Bye "Ice Queen" Again.
