Traffic on News/Talk stations

Is there a "best" time for traffic updates? I know some stations like 1010 WINS, 880 WCBS, etc. have traffic updates corresponding to their frequency number but would more people tune into hearing Traffic on the 1's than Traffic on the 8's?

most newstalk stations include traffic on the 8 or 10 because of the comfort zone factor AND include traffic as part of their top of the hour newscasts during drivetimes.

Most of the time, various stations are getting traffic from the same traffic service and use the same announcers. For that reason, traffic times have to be scattered to allow announcers to work multiple stations. Sometimes, stations try to get traffic slots corresponding to their frequency (1010 WINS on the 1s; 880 on the 8s).

Here in Albuquerque KKOB 770 does traffic updates every ten minutes with "Traffic on the 7's" in reference to the 770 frequency. The FM stations I listen usually have traffic updates on at :25 and :55 past the hour.

The geniuses at Cheap Channel have decided that listeners in a congested metropolitan area such as Orlando don't need "real" traffic reports.

The brain-dead "radio" "broadcasters" canned all their traffic people for their NT station, and utilizing cameras only on one interstate, moved the jobs to Tampa, where a reader will describe conditions.

What a joke we have running radio today.

XM was right. "FM (i.e. radio) is dead. The two owners attended the funeral the other day..."
