Maybe. I have heard the same anchors on Lexington, Nashville and Cincinnati stations.
Where does it end? With the sales staff playing the i-pods? Or maybe the listeners?radioville said:Bengalsfan said:radioville said:Well at least they still have local news anchors.

Bengalsfan said:What they don't seem to be getting, is that yea, they are saving money but the service keeps going down hill. Yesterday morning they reported a lane closure at 71 southbound at the Buckner exit 14. Like an idiot I got on 71 anyway about 10:30 to come in town. The last traffic report I heard just before 1 was still reporting the lane closure on 71 with traffic backed up several miles. Problem was, there was no lane closure! I breezed through exit 14 with no problems.
Honestly, why would anyone depend on WHAS anymore for anything anymore? I learned long time ago that the saying "when news breaks out, we break in" is only valid during normal business hours.
Does WFPK do its own reports or do they Get them From Metro Trafficfaaradar said:Best traffic info in Louisville is on WFPK 91.9.
Can anyone remember the helicopter traffic reporters that have been in Louisville? I think Dick Gilbert was the one with the longest tenure, with Mark Travis, Ron Roberts, and Captain Larry Grant following at WHAS. Did Captain Dick Tong work for WAVE too in the 1970s?MikeStandardsFromIndiana said:Does WFPK do its own reports or do they Get them From Metro Trafficfaaradar said:Best traffic info in Louisville is on WFPK 91.9.
If they get the Reports from Metro. i believe those reports are coming out of Atlanta GA

I'm not sure if Brian is related to Earl, but he is a WLW guy. I couldn't find any traffic reports with Earl, but this one does mention driver's licenses:radiotrumpet78 said:I have noticed another new voice doing afternoon traffic on WHAS. He goes by the name Brian Pitts.... That wouldn't be Earl's grandson by chance????? The only problem is that he speaks with a typical mid-western accent and not one of southern Mississippi. Must be be from Pearl's side of the family. I heard a few of them escaped the grip of the family's tradition to get an edu-cation.
No one on Earl's side of the family ever ran away to learn to read and 'rite and they turned out 'ceptable. Pitts OFF
