Traffic reports overload!

There are 4 stations in NYC doing traffic reports around the clock. WCBS, WINS, Bloomberg Radio, and now 101.9 FM New(s). Sure, during rush hour it's useful to know that there's a traffic report somewhere every 2 minutes. But it does seem annoying when listening to 101.9 FM New for the music. Since the NY market is so large (and there are many idiots that crash their cars every day), it could at times be impossible to keep up with reporting every single traffic incident in the whole coverage area. The suburban stations with smaller coverage areas do better with traffic reports in rush hour because there are less roads to cover.

Is 101.9 going to be a music station? Oh yeah that's right, nobody knows the answer and all signs point to no.

The assumptions and guesses about 101.9 are POINTLESS. It's a wait and see game. Nobody can predict with any level of certainty what's going to end up happening, so let's just be patient little boys and girls and see what ends up on the frequency.

If 101.9 becomes all news which is what launched on the Chicago Station Friday afternoon then Traffic and Weather every 10 Minutes would be acceptable I think WCBS News Radio 88 and 1010 Wins do traffic and weather about every 10 min. around the clock. Lets see what happens on Monday when most feel the stunting will end and the new (whatever it is) format will begin.
