Tragic Broadcasting Flips ESPN 100.5 Dothan to "The Breeze"

I guess in a move to try and flank WOOF FM. Lets see.
Thats three of their stations basically trying to cut into WOOF's female stranglehold.
WKMX 106.7, WJRL 103.9, and now WLDA 100.5
While WTVY gets pummeled by the Big Dog.
That's right...let the bread winner slide while concentrating energy on format changes for the class A property.

From listening to "the breeze" tonight:

Crappy liners
Out of place high energy instrumental music beds filling empty stop sets
Loud distorted audio

On a positive note:

They still have prick & flubber in the morning.

Typical Tragic Tragedy

By splitting their already splintered contemporary audience they assure themselves to keep 95.5 as the number one station in the building.

Hmmm.....wonder why?
 
I don't see it as a Tragedy...but more a comedy!

Here is a cluster that HAD the potential to be the top of the market in all demographics and formats, but instead of working as a team they were out for 1 station. Now that station is no longer a top contender and neither is the station that they hoped would be. When Styles messed up that station the women ran to WDJR and WOOF! So now Tragic, has 3 stations trying to act like one to get some numbers and revenue. Maybe someday someone will learn you can't protect WTVY and try to let it carry you, because it won't. If they would have worked as a team that cluster could have been the top of the market instead of laughing stock.

What I heard Today on The Breeze

1. Stop sets firing off in the middle of songs. And wrapping up when songs are already on.
2. Bad low audio on local spots. Wonder if Majic is going to charge these clients for what they ran?
3. Excessive Loundness on the music over modulation bad. I hate it for them if the FCC finds out.
4. No Legal ID's throughout the day.

Why even put a new format switch on the air,If you know it's not sounding good?

I think it's crazy that Majic is trying to use 3 stations to bring down one Huge Stable C1 station in the Dothan Market. Especially when two of them don't even have much coverage at all. When are the Idiots at Majic going to learn how to do real radio.

I can remember when Majic made the flip from WILD 100.5 To ESPN Radio 100.5 how they said that WOOF AM Was going to be shut down. I guess Phil Paramore and the crew at WOOF are Laughing all the way to the bank now.
 
What I haven't heard on the "Breeze" is Summer Breeze by Seals & Croft......and I come home from a hard days work and you're waiting there..not a care in the world....those are the lyrics, not intended to reflect in any way the status of the-well, cowbell's already said it.

Wonder where they'll feel the magic hands reaching out to hold them at the end of the broadcast day???? The Magical Mystery Tour is coming to take you away like a Summer Breeze which reminds you of the fragrance from the rodents backside or like the physical transformation of the queen bee so well documented on their websites. Don't queen bees dance in the summer breeze to give directions/dictations to the workers? The Breeze must be an interpretation of such directives. Which brings to mind another tune by Queen, ever here Killer Queen?
 
Here's a promotional idea for a tv spot. Opens with KC coughing in nhis sleep like the intro to Sweet Leaf by Black Sabbath because Queen Fairy (guess who, wings and all) has decided to transform the dull Dan Patrick Show to something "wonderful". Using a jet propulsion supplied by Rodent Man she swoops around the Magic Kingdom (just like tinkerbell used to do) and sprinkles pixie dust (goodness knows) on the top of the Foster Street Building br4inging light and joy to Dothan through the "Magical Breeze" radio station. Just then KC opens his eyes muttering about nightmares and old Meatloaf albumns.
 
I did notice that they're using the same music service (Jones?) as The Fox in Andalusia.

Was this one of the changes by the new manager Magician Don brought from Cumulus Albany? Oh, the stories I could entertain you with about him. Watch out...Here come the budget cutting scissors!

Why not just sell the stations you don't know how to use (all of them) and pay down the Magic debt? Oh, That's right...Maybe that IS happening :eek:
 
Yeah that's right 100.5 THE BLOWS is running the exact same satelite as WFXX
in Andalusia, the "TODAY'S HITS & YESTERDAYS FAVORITES" format. THE FOX does sound much better! Way to go MAGIC, way to take on a 100,000 watt local powerhouse with a 6,000 watt sattelite feed from who knows where, and a redneck morning show with absolutely no music to jumpstart your workday. This is just another example of how bad radio is in this market.( i.e. You have THE RADIO PEOPLE trying to take down WTVY with two stations, & you have Magic trying to take on WOOF with three stations). All there is to listen too is COUNTRY, AC, 1 TALK STATION & WHATEVER THE HELL KMX IS SUPPOSED TO BE (some type of CHR/97X wannabe ...thing). The listeners are the real losers (those poor people) they can't get good variety on their radio's all they get is a bunch of IDIOTS who are so busy going after each others throats that they have forgatten what this industry is about: TO INFORM, TO ENTERTAIN & YES TO MAKE MONEY (BUT NOT LIKE THIS). People your killing your industry; WAKE UP!

Let's see...The standard formula is 5-10x cash flow...So doesn't that mean McCoy & crew should be paying someone to buy it? ;D

(Yes I know there are other formulas for loser stations...but they aren't as much fun)

WOOF is a stand alone station,KMX is a stand alone station, and jrl..yea right going after woof? lets see the breeze is stupid,looks like caniblisim tragic..bad move!!

Country is king in the wire grass, all the other stations are doing there own thing, OH and dont pitty the listeners to much saying they are the ones getting hurt by ALL the stations, remember when it gets down to the dirt..Its the advertiser that dictate what is on air, just ask the Radio People, great ratings on the rap station, but you cant sell it.!!!!!

At least you can say the TRAGIC morons are consistant! Consistant MORONS! That is a shame too. Amie Pollard, K. C., Big Mike, Elizabeth, J. J. and Stephen are good folks who deserve better. I thought the insanity was only on Laird on Panama City Beach. What a travesty. And with YODA gone from 97X, Tragic Broadcasting really is TRAGIC! What shame to think when Tom DiBacco and Kim Styles were at the helm, they not only OWNED both Dothan and Panama City, but, DOMINATED! I guess GREED and STUPIDITY run hand in hand with the current regime at TRAGIC. I know the folks over at the RADIO PEOPLE and 997WOOF are laughing their BUTTS off. Three stations in the cluster going after one! LOL!
 
97Rip, you are correct on a few things and incorrect on other things. But you are certainly correct that the situation is trajic and causing substantial laughter. I wonder how many will be gone when the books come back? Brings to mind two old songs, "Trajedy" by the BeeJees and "Since Your Gone" by the Cars.

BTW, congrads to my yellow Buds and their big hit movie, 168M world wide!! DO IT HOMER!!

100.5 "The Breeze" What A Joke

It's been a whole month since the format flip and the station still has the same problems it had in the beginning. Still sounds like crap Bad Modulation miss fired stop sets, etc etc.
