TransLanTech Still Around?

i hear the Omnia One FM with cg;s presets was a clear winner over the Vorsis. But i also hear Leif's Breakaway Broadcast Processor was the real head turner and caught quite a few ears by surprise.

Yes, both Omnia. One and Breakway blew away Vorsis. I was a bit embarassed for the Vorsis guys.

The shootout was embarrassing in general so before we drift off topic and this ends up in a vorsis bashing topic based upon the wrong test results, I would say test a vorsis or any other processor for yourself hands on. I'm still very open minded towards vorsis even after the processing day because I didn't have my hands on it.

What wrong test results! I was there. Saw and heard it, just as you did! The Vorsis guys setup their box themselves, and it FAILED!!! It can't pass the mustard. No one else had any trouble.

I hope that no one who is in the market for a processor of any kind is taking seriously these comments about the Processing Day in the Netherlands. Go back and look at the post-event thread about it. Cornelius Gould and David Reaves both described the processor shootout as "a less than ideal situation all around" and "too chaotic to make any real sense", and those two guys are as respected as it gets in the processing community. http://boards.radio-info.com/smf/index.php/topic,123530.0.html

Talking about the results of "processor wars" in the Netherlands is not doing any favors for any of the processor manufacturers. It's only serving to confuse those who aren't "in the loop" on what you folks did. Not to mention that processing in the Netherlands on any given day is a totally different beast than processing in the United States, other countries of the EU, Australia, and so on.

Ah, I don't need to look at those posts. I was there. The V box got beat!

This group talks out of both ends. They rant on about this one vs that one, post audio files comparing one against another, but when a real live face off happens, and the one box FAILS, then excuses are made.

Yeah, testing a box for yourself in real life is a real lame excuse. ??? I'd rather go out there and place my order based upon someone else’s judgment..... ::) If any processor is not up for the job it will still show it's limitations when you test it yourself soon enough. So what is your point? You are entitled to have your opinion towards Vorsis but may we have ours? The fact is that I don't have an opinion towards Vorsis because I did not test it myself. And yes I was there that day and know that many other processors did not sound as they should be as well, boxes that I have my hands on every day. Reason enough for me not to take any result seriously.

One last thing I will say about Vorsis...we really ought to have a good, open discussion about Vorsis processors like the VP-8 on this board sometime. They've made enough of a name for themselves at this point, it would be interesting to hear a wide range of perspectives on their products like the VP-8.

With that being said, the Ariane Sequel is great and it's good to know that TransLanTech is still rockin' it! :)
