It looks like a new translator K292GV in Santa Fe which is a fill in for KDCE 950 with a Spanish-language format has brought about a complaint from Vanguard Media which operates KDLW Z 106.3. https://licensing.fcc.gov/cdbs/CDBS...?appn=101791943&qnum=5000©num=1&exhcnum=1 However it states that the translator "completely covers up KDLW in Santa Fe" but the radio locator map shows Santa Fe to be right on the stations' fringe line. https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=KDLW&service=FM Of course the high elevation does make it possible to hear distant stations there.
KLVO also has the same coverage and also has a Santa Fe translator K249FB for KVSF 1400 AM on the same frequency which was activated in February. But so far no known complaints from AGM. However the station I have noticed to be the most badly affected is KBAC from K251AU in Albuquerque. While they seem to still cover Santa Fe well enough the signal gets disrupted not too far south of there on I-25 by the country station. Also out in the Edgewood/Moriarty area there is a lot of interference causing static. But Hutton never made a case against the translator so it must be within the limits. Of course many years ago it was possible to listen even in Albuquerque but distance listening is becoming a thing of the past as translators cover up more of the FM dial.
But I wonder if the KDLW complaint is valid?
