Translator MX applications

THE FCC is getting ready to grant or dismiss many translator applications. Staff is calling people giving advice on settlement.

What is the bottom line on this? Is the FCC wanting to help get things ready for the LPFM RM?

How many station engineers filed applications for the window and what is your take on the MX resolution now?

Do you use Com Study?(tm)

Many of the applications filed by the Twin Falls twins were MX to each other, e.g., 94.3 and 94.7 from the same (bogus) site here locally.

I doubt if many of these applications were "studied," they just found a registered tower and dumped applications in. However, everyone needs to be prepared & read the Daily Diugest daily--once these things come out only 15 days to file objections.

FCC probably trying to get their staff back to something more productive & revenue producing. While MX translator apps could go to auction, I doubt if we ever see more than a handful going this route, and for rather palty amounts.

Would you bid very much for something that could be bumped overnight if a full-power station decided to move? Or, for that matter, if they claimed the translator was creating real interference? Look at 103.7 in Cleveland, Eduycational Media (KLOV) just bought that c.p. It's adjacent to both 103.3, a B owned by Moody Broadcasting, and 104.1, another full-powered commercial B owned by Infinity.
