Translator problems for Knoxville Stations.

Four station in Knoxville/Maryville will have to work out differences if they want to get a translator. WKGN, WITA, WVLZ and WGAP Maryville all picked the same Freq. so they will have to find another one, buy the other guys out or it will go to auction.

I’m wondering what’s up with Midwest’s 107.3 translator? They sure are dragging their feet on getting it upgraded or doing anything with it. As I’ve said before, I hate that this market has almost no HD2 programming or commercial translators re-broadcasting them. It really sucks that Knoxville was bypassed by I Heart, Entercom, etc. during the big consolidation phase. Most other similar size markets have many more signals & choices.

IHeart / CC uses a lot of cookie cutter National formats at least in Knoxville you have some independent local programing. Voice Tracking after a while becomes stale. IMHO
