Translator question

Unfortunately for all of us, $300 radios "available from a few suppliers" aren't going to impress the Staff or get them to revisit their ruling anytime soon.

The language was rather specific: "widely-available consumer radios". As far as I know, no one meets this criteria right now.

As I asked previously, does anyone have a copy of the Filing mentioned previously by ChiefEngineer or know where one can be found?

Thanks.

Thanks.

At this point, it is hard to say HD really meets that criteria either. Certainly "available" but you still have to look for them.

A well respected Engineer made the request not in a filing but in an informal request.

If the request is made in a filing as I thought it would be it might get consideration.

The problem is DRE is marketed as being an SCA service although it isn't. You can't use an SCA radio to receive it.

DRE claims the service can be received in the hybrid mode on digital radios but Ibiquity won't allow another technology.

The R and O (1999 Digital radio ) claims that "other" digital services are encouraged but they aren't. How can a service develop if it can't present a platform first? When approved how many digfital radios were in stores???

I guess pay 35 k for licensing and buy 140k worth of digital is the last method left for this??? Won't work to restore service to a small community.
