K206CF, the Calvary Chapel translator on 89.1 has been the subject of an objection for license renewal, initiated by South Texas Public Radio because of interference complaints from listeners of San Antonio's KSTX, also on 89.1. According to an application filed a couple of days ago, they tried reducing power but that didn't solve all the problems, so now they're seeking to change frequencies. They're seeking to have the application treated as a "displacement" and asking for a waiver so that the FCC will treat it as a "minor change," as if they were moving just a couple of channels either way. With KAZI and KMFA on either side of the translator, of course, that's impossible---so they're wanting to move to 90.1!
The frequency study in the application makes no mention of anything on 90.1, but why would it, since the FCC has done nothing about the "for profit" PIRATE that's been there for years? This could get really interesting.
