translators in NM

I know of a couple of satellite-fed formats that use terrestrial translator stations. Most, if not all of these translators are in the educational band, 88 to 92 FM. I know these types of "stations" are all over the country but it seems that there are a lot of them in New Mexico. Do many people listen to these low power translator stations in their neighborhoods/work areas?
