Transmitter Help!

I'm looking to upgrade my FM transmitter. My price range is 300 dollars or under. I'm looking for a transmitter that is 1 watt or under and is user adjustable. Any ideas? Any help is appreciated! Feel free to email me at: [email protected]. Thanks and I hope everyone has a happy and safe Memorial Day!!!

One thing I forgot to point out about the C. Crane FMT. It's not a good transmitter for 24/7 operation because I've noticed the signal gradually shrinks over long extended periods of operation (the signal range was cut in half by the third day of 24 hour operation and was difficult to receive in the same room by the 5th day.) For nighttime operation or as an FM "daytimer", it works just fine as long as it's given a few hours to shut down and "cool off" daily.

That's Interesting, I use my C Crane Non Stop For Weeks On End and it's signal never changes. I've been running it nearly non stop for darned near 2 years and it hasn't skipped a beat.
Maybe there's something wrong with yours?

The two C. Cranes we have in the evaluation lab are running 24/7 with no perceived change in signal strength. I'll be in the process of testing some other FM transmitters with a Potomac FIM-71 field meter so it may be interesting to see if this is a common occurrence.

Mine died after a year or two of use. A similar problem...OK cool, then when warmed up audio modulation dropped to
less than one per cent, seemed like the rf power hadn't changed at all ( still needed to be connected by WIRE to the intended
tuner out on the porch to "worK". It was repeatable. This must be 3-4 years ago.

I could probably plug it in now and it would work fine...for 15 minutes.
I gave up on it before I even thought of opening it up, but true to form, I haven't thrown it away yet.
Maybe someday I'll have nothing else to do.

Take it apart and drill some holes into the case for ventilation. A small DC fan could either be mounted TO it, or right next to it. That should help, significantly, with cooling.
