Christopher Norris, who played Gloria "Ripples" Brankowski, was at the time, in my opinion one of the sharpest looking women on TV.

I'll second that! FYI: She'll be celebrating her 53rd birthday on October 7th. I haven't seen her on the tube in ages.

According to the IMDB, she was in an episode of "Diagnosis Murder" in 1998, but no newer credits.

It also says that after her career faded, she went back to college and got a degree in psychology.

And it mentions she's been mistaken at times for Melanie Griffith. I can see that.

FYI: Looking at my own references for the show, the character Christopher Norris played was actually named Gloria Brancuzi - Some of the other online references seem to have it incorrect.

Thanks Bill. I was just going by memory, and I do stand corrected.

Hey, at least you remembered the show .... and Christopher Norris! I bet to most people the show is a distant memory if they even remember it at all. I hope they do consider releasing it. I'd be right there ready to add it to my collection.

Of course, I'd love to see Medical Center with Chad Everett come to DVD too - another fairly decent hospital drama from the 70's.

I would also like to see Marcus Welby MD come to DVD as well. I have not seen this show at all since Lifetime reran the 1972-1976 episodes during the late 80's. I want to see what the earlier seasons of Marcus Welby were like(1969-1972) and also if Medical Center comes to DVD what the earlier episodes(1969-1972) were like. When CBN in the mid 80's and then TNT in the 90's reran those episodes they aired the 1972-1976 episodes. I just wondered why they did that. I think that during the early syndication rerun cycles(which I have never seen since both shows never aired in reruns in San Antonio) they aired the earlier episodes as well.

And speaking of Medical Center, there was a controversial episode that guest starred Robert Reed as a man wanting to become a woman. This episode aired during the 1975-1976 season and as far as I know it has never been seen in reruns. As a matter of fact, some stations refused to air the episode in question. Does anyone know about this episode?

It's odd that the early parts of these series had limited or no run in syndication. I barely remember a Medical Center episode with Robert Reed but I know I don't remember anything of what the plot for that particular episode was.

Marcus Welby MD would be a great show as well. I seem to remember the first season was in black and white ... or it could just be my memory of it, since my family didn't get color television until I was a bit older. I do remember seeing it in color in syndication and other other people's homes during the initial run.

While not directly a "medical drama" it's nice to see Emergency! has it's 2nd season released on DVD.

I have a vague recollection of seeing the Medical Center episode guest starring Robert Reed. I think it was a 2 parter with most of it dealing with his family having a hard time with his decision to become a woman.

Of the three, Emergency was the best. TV Land showed the episodes a bunch of years ago and I wish they'd show them again.

Marcus Welby MD was always a color show. Your family had a black and white TV so that's why you saw it in black and white. My family did not get a color TV until 1981 so every show that I watched on there was in black and white.

Speaking of Marcus Welby, they have showed restored clips of the show when they did a biography of David Cassidy when he appeared on the show,so they are still around but the show has not been seen in years.

I am a huge fan of Emergency! and Jack Webb as well. I have the 1st 2 seasons of the show on DVD. But I wonder why Universal has yet to get the get go for the 3rd season of Emergency! on DVD. The same goes for Dragnet 1968(1967-1968 season) and the 2nd season of Adam-12. Wonder if poor sales are on account of these shows and the other seasons not coming to DVD sooner than expected?
