Steve E. is wondering why nobody is commenting on KLUV, KTCK, K104, etc doing well. Duh. Because that's not "news".
Oh sure, maybe if you work for one of those stations, or in direct competition to one of them it's news that KLUV is #2, almost #1, but is that really 'news' to anybody who is paying attention?
What is newsworthy, or at least attention grabbing, is the fact of how low some stations have sunk, kind of a how low can you go kind of thing....To me THAT is much more newsworthy...
Because, for example, Twister is at a 1.4. To me, that is much more interesting/newsworthy than that KLUV is #2. Because it raises the question of how long a Citadel (in that case) will put up with anemic ratings. And practically non existent revenues.
My point, which obviously sailed straight over your head, is that just as the news doesn't report the blindingly obvious (like toilets working), I don't have any problem with someone not commenting on the blindingly obvious.
After all, we're talking about 2 marconi WINNERS, the heritage oldies and the heritage urban in town, and they all did well...Really...Who would have thought THAT was possible ::

Again, that's not NEWS. That's not out of the ordinary. What is news is just how low some stations have sunk. Just how much the SUCK. Which is why people want to comment on the negative, rather than the postive...
No, I didn't miss your point or your analogy.
