Trends and Questions

Trends out this week. The following stations were predicted to grow
in the fall book, but you'll have to grab the PD's September monthly to see if
I am on the money. All up by the end of the book: KIRO, KRWM, KBKS, KPLZ,KWJZ, KBSG, KNDD. Let the fun begin!

Several Entercom mysteries are about to be settled. BJ rumored to replace Stern, it all depends on Robin's lawsuit being settled. I predict
Robin's lawsuit about to be settled out of court as R@M head into retirement next year. KIRO with a full court press to return to number one, KMTT looking for a new PD and KBSG rumored to be close to re-signing their morning show. All
as iknowitall predicted. It just takes patience my friends. The only prediction that has failed to come true is Rush moving to KIRO. Patience friends.

Glad I could clear some things up. Happy Thanksgiving from your Predictor
of Trends, Rajah of Radio and friend of all. IKNOWITALL!

(Oh, one final prediction. Iknowitall to move to another market in a matter
of weeks! This girl is movin on and will miss this Board and my iknowitall fans. This is a prediction I guarantee will come true.)

PEACE OUT

Many will cheer that you are leaving town. I, for one,
will miss your posts. Having moved here from another
market several months ago, your posts add spice to what
can be a dull board. Your predictions are quite uncanny,
even if you do miss occasionally. I may attempt to replace
your predicting, but will never be able to do as good a job.
Our PD knew who you were, since I believe you worked at our
shop at one time. Peace to you my friend. I may start
predicting, but will have to go a long way to match your record.

By the way, why does anyone care who replaces Stern? My prediction
is Bob Rivers is the big winner getting most of Stern's male numbers.
The rest will flee to satellite radio to hear Stern. Anyone who replaces
Stern is interim at best, filler talent at worst.

Are you kidding? Have you seen Stern's numbers?

From "who cares" to "see what I think." Okay.

Stern and Rivers are two different types of shows. Sure, Rivers will get some folks, but he's not going to get all of them.

I guess someone cares about who replaces Stern.

Well, of course the show that replaces Stern, on the middle of the dial, in the morning, in a major radio market will care who replaces him. As for the morning drive and who will come out on top, probably Rivers ... unless another talent begins to take over. The local talent that I think has the best shot of dominating in the mornings is Ricker (I don't think he is going anywhere anytime soon, by the way), as long as he includes content that potentially could get him fined. I say this because I would guess the FCC is less interested in controlling the media now, as compared to before a presidential election. And it seemed clear to me that Stern was the target. Yes, a bunch of broadcasters were fined, but nothing to the degree of Howard, and with the new year rolling around I would guess the morality police will become lax. I certainly did not hear about fines in the last year, since Stern's Sirius announcement. Just an amazing prediction for 2006. Have a good one, iknowitall, it has been fun.
