Trends with Possibilities

After reading and looking at the recent trends one has to wonder who will be the next to flip? Clear Channel needs to flip 97.1 and 92.5 to either AC or Country. Maybe trying to relaunch KZPS...I would kill it. If I were Infinity/CBS I would put KVIL out of it's misery and flip it to Modern AC to complement Movin on the Rock end. CBS sould kill off Free FM and put KRLD on both 1080 and 105.3! When Citadel takes over KSCS I predict a retooling or rebranding with new Personalities...I have no idea if Dorsey still beats the Wolf morning show, but if not can him too and bring in someone new. Maybe KSCS can bring in Randy Carroll of KJ 97 fame or DOC and Kelly from KBCY in Abilene to replace Dorsey. Will KISSFM hire Maria Todd to Co-Host with Atom Smasher in Afternoons. I enjoyed hearing Maria Todd for a few weeks while Kellie Rasberry was gone...Kellie is abnoxious and annoying at best....Big Al is old hat too...KIDD is still great, but he needs Maria Todd with a sidekick boy/girl...stunt boy/girl watcha call them.

I'd bet that none of what you suggested will happen.
Considering the fragmentation of the market these days I'd bet all of those stations will remain more or less the same.

I don't have the latest trends, but let me look back a month or so and see if I have this right.
You want to take a station that is pulling a 3.5 in Adults 25-54 (i.e. the most prized demo by advertisers) and replace it with KRLD which draws a 1.5 in the same demo?

And then you think CC should flip 92.5 (which is mid 2's 25-54) because why? So the Bone can improve their 1.7ish ratings?

I'm Smoking to the fact that 92.5 KZPS is the lowest rated full market FM signal in the city. If I were at KZPS I would be concerned with that fact or that CBS is rumored to be considering a format change with the JACK in Seattle which means that the JACK in Dallas could be on the list shortly for a flip...I think it would be smart for JACK to flip to Classic Rock with a harder edge.
I enjoy Country, but in the next 5 or so years could DFW be looking at having just one Country station as the Country shares have plummeted?
I do have a question: Why does KESS 107.9 do so well on a northern rimshot? Is it time for the big clusters to buy up the northern rimshots and start putting certain formats on those...considering the northern growth in the DFW area?
KESN does well on it's rimshot, but what if they put THE BONE on it? 100.7 is a wasted signal and could be benefitial to CBS or Clear Channel if they were to sell one of it's under performing cedar hill sticks?!?!? I think 97.1 will flip, but when and to what? Let's discuss!!

Perhaps if KVIL would play real AC music instead of this slow to mid tempo sometimes unfamiliar music they might get ratings. Make the music Fun, Uptempo like it was in the 70's early 80's. Same for Mix. Worst mix of music i've heard ever! So many mediocre songs.

The last set of 25-54's I have here shows ZPS with a [EDIT] 25-54 persons. KLUV has a [EDIT]. KDGE has a [EDIT]. Heck, their [EDIT] ain't that far behind KSCS's [EDIT]. or WBAP's [EDIT].

The money is is 25-54. They may not be doing 'great', but it looks like they're doing okay...

And Jack is pulling in the low 3's 25-54. Puts them if not in, then right around the top 12. Why flip that?

For the intended audience, the signal is, as you say, reasonably effective.

The big issue is that KESS FM has the Piolín show in the morning. THis show is #1 Spanish and, often, #1 total market, in the sales demos, in every market it is in. Since there are so few Spanish options, the "biggest" one is going to perform very well, even if on a marginal signal.

I do understand 12+ does not matter, but if you constantly perform at or below 13th in 12+ in this market you better watch your back no matter what your key demo is! It looks bad for KZPS to be in last place 12+ on a cedar hill signal...demo or not...your still in last place overall and KZPSers better be sweating some day to day....JACK too. I would agree KSCS needs a personality change in addition to a proram director change. The pd who replaced Lorrin Palagi has destroyed KSCS recent gains. Embarrassing imaging, Tired jocks. Who was the guy i heard on last week doing nights? Baaaad! Sounded like a slow talking Goober from Mayberry. And the girl on Middays. :
