Wow KATT really has shot up. In that case so has Twister. KWCO is on the map now also. KHBZ, KOKC, and KINB are just sitting there. any thoughts?

Who Knows and Who Cares! but way to go Joe Friday and Yeager!!!!!!!!!!

Some of us do care, that's why we come here. KATT is not much of a surprise. They are the only real rock station for the entire state of Oklahoma. A buddy of mine who lives near Bartlesville has a FM antenna on his roof just to pick up KATT. KTST doesn't surprise me much. They are getting better all the time.

I don't know if it's station-wide, but I've noticed a lot of songs at lunch which embrace KATT's heritage, i.e. Fastway, coming back on the air. If that's going on 24/7 perhaps that's something to do with it...I know it entices me!

Well since the KATT has a Live and Local Morning show, and Buzz has some piped in show from god only knows where, and KATT has pretty good talent for the most part that helps alot. I noticed Buzz did another nothing but 90's weekend this past weekend, Those get old after a while espcialy when it's the same 90's songs you here all week long in regular rotation. If Buzz where smart they would get a show worth a damn that can go head to head with Rick and Brad. And get a PD who knows what they are doing not some guy who plays what he wants. For the record the buzz's trends were not this low even when they had Matt and Bacon. Think god I have Sirius

Look for KHBZ to become OKC's largest taco warmer in about 6 months if they don't pull out of the slump they're in. Honestly, I don't see things improving much as they seem to be stuck on having a sat. morning show and some pretty pathetic garage-band music. If they were smart, they'd get a real morning show and and start playing late 80s -90s stuff. (the music that MADE alternative music)

And don't forget about Memories 96.9, which took a nice spike in the ratings after KQSR bought it; only to shortly thereafter buy it itself in favor of The Bull...

Here's a reflection of either today's tolerances or how "good it is to be on top": with little competition except for downhall KOMA, Magic actually played the rap-intro version of "I Feel For You" on its "Friday Free For All" yesterday. I can remember when KJ would barely even do that when the song first came out...

Yeah good point. but I wonder since KHBZ ratings are so low if they are going to flip? and if they do to what Soft AC again? I say to Spanish AC or even sports talk they have the Hornets don't they? KEBC Am and KHBZ-FM The Sports Buzz haha

Well considering it takes alot to run a sports station and a spanish station I would'nt see a format flip at least not on KHBZ. Now what I can see is staff changes. The Buzz in Houstan fired everyone on its staff one time, and revamped with a whole new staff and it did them good. To only have two full time staff memebers and (one of them being live) and a tape delay morning show does not help. No offence Mr. Hurley (as he would say "You Know My Name") Bill :) and Mr. Travis I respect you guys highly as well as a bunch of others in that building that will read this and I am not bashing The Buzz but The Buzz needs to be revamped, Reimaged and a PD who does not play what he wants. Keep in mind what works in Tulsa does not work here always. For every other song to be a new song, people are like ok where is the golds that made this station? Doing Nothing but 90's weekends every other weekend is cool but like a guy said in a previous post "those get old". I still love The Buzz and it bothers me to see such hard work we all put in it Matt, Tattoo, Bacon MO, Barreda, Crystal, Lacey, Myself, David and anyone else who has helped out on The Buzz just being flushed. Last but not least I hope KHBZ does not ever flip, believe it or not you will be surprised how you can get your numbers up if you market and promote the hell out of your product just right Stickers, Live Events, Ect Ect Ect.

I don't think KHBZ will be there for long. They will sooner or later flip probaly to a AC Station.

Folks, remember that it's not completely about some pretty little numbers published in book form by a company called Arbitron. The ratings system they currently use is flawed because there simply aren't enough diaries going out into the marketplace. With such a small sample size, do they really expect us to believe that group of diary holders (and I'm just referring to the ones that actually bother to fill out the diary, much less the people that don't return their books) really represents what the market is truly listening to? Until the PPM or an alternative method of measurement that can sample a much higher number of listeners hits the market on a widescale basis, trends / books / etc can only be taken for face value.

The real measure of success, regardless of Arb numbers, can be found in the Business / Sales / General Manager's office in the accounting files.

No dude you otta listen to The Buzz it's a flop. I promise you will here Nirvana at 5pm everyday unless he reads this board and changes it to the second or third song but still none the less you will here it.

I don't mind a nice, broad AC, and don't want Magic to change (other than to broaden their core library to routinely include some of these off-their-beaten-track songs they occasionally slip in, so Invisible Touch and Dancing On The Ceiling can GO AWAY for awhile); but sometimes a nice, tranquil Soft AC would be so welcome. And I don't really even mean KQSR or Memories; I loved Memories due to their expansive library, but both still played too many uptempo songs. I really mean balladish-only SOFT AC, without the mawkish crap of Delilah to put up with.
