Too bad Arbitron and the mega-bucks stations have to pay for their faulty service isn't embargoed permenently by everyone in our market. Between the RIAA, ASCAP, BMI, consultants and Arbitron it's a wonder ANY station can afford to stay on the air..

Ever wonder why they can't pay people in radio worth a crap?

No joke. I think they caued it to happen. I have that on good authority.

I may be taking my job into my own hands if anyone finds out who I am here. But I know for a fact that we, Journal and Renda have shared ratings information with people in other groups from time to time. In fact I've been at lunches where PD's from our group and from other groups have whipped out actual hard copies of ratings and shared the love. It's common practice. It shouldn't happen. But let's not be naive and act like KXOJ is the only one doing it. They just got caught. They may not be as smart at hiding it as the rest of us. But they're certainly as honest. Ha ha. I love this message board thing.

When I saw Cox Guy, I pictured "Digital Max" from the Cox TV commercial.

Does everybody at Cox have to wear a blue sweater and spike their hair now? (Just kidding)

Your people are cool.

Well we certainly did not get "caught" since we are not subscribers, but last time Jan was in town I may have been guilty of letting her know that others were sending out some data, unsolicited at that. So maybe we indirectly caused someone else to be "caught". I do know that shortly thereafter non-subscribers were no longer listed, and that means all future books will be missing some really key players (not even counting my own group) so how much meaning can a "press release" 12+ report carry anyway? You really need to be a subscriber to pull anything meaningful.

Hey Bob.....12+ is the whole family and a lot of stations sell based on the 12+ demo alone. Some stations don't even sell off the book. But I guess that's all really beside the point. This market is just getting ridiculous. Tulsa radio has become a parody of itself.
