At 5:00 this afternoon, 94.5 The Beat in Winston-Salem switched to Spanish Oldies "La Preciosa".

That seems to squash any rumors at the moment of 105.7 going La Vida Loca.

Having said that, who do you thnk will be the first Spanish FM in Charlotte now?

WAGI or The END. I think WNMX would be wise to do it, but I don't see it happening.

WQNC might be another candidate but I don't see that happening either.

I guess the question is: How much money can be made with a Spanish language station in Charlotte vs doing something else?

WAGI and the End are my first ideas too at the moment.

As for making money, considering the fast growing hispanic population with an highly bountiful cash flow, plus the lack of competion for the moment, and the fact that Spanish stations all over have been ratings success stories, a Spanish FM would most likely rake it in here in Charlotte. I'm surprised that one hasn't signed on already.
