Big Ape, you had made a comment before about me complaining about WGHP. You had brought up WGHP-TV 8.2-Antenna TV. You were saying that I had liked WGHP-TV 8.2, but now was not satisfied. However, when I was pointing criticism at WGHP, it was for WGHP-TV 8.1 and their newscasts/lineup. I believe that you too have made comments here not liking the 8.1 News, etc. My complaints had nothing to do with WGHP-TV 8.2. I think that is way better station than 8.1. Hope this clears up the confusion-LOL!

As a member of said establishment being attacked here, I find this whole thread totally hilarious! I really do!

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. And everyone here sure does. But it is quite interesting to see who has a clue and who doesn't.

In saying that, you probably don't know but I worked for Southern Broadcasting when 8 was put on the air, so I believe I have the right to comment on it's current status!
 
Who's being attacked? WGHP asked for it. Ever since they did away with the 8-ball logo and Dialing for Dollars, they been asking for it over and over!!!!!!!!!!

Bring back the oldies!
 
WGHP-TV 8.2 has the old Snowball logo. Actually, their programming IS MUCH better than 8.1. MUCH BETTER!!!

So GTGO what you are actually saying is that channel 8 is wasting a lot of time and money with their local news department. It seems like all of the programming on 8.2 is at least thirty years old. According to you who wants to watch anything that has to do with what's going on NOW. The news and weather are not important. Who cares if there's a tornado warning. Just give us Gidget and the 3 stooges. After all ignorance is bliss.
 
No, you make a very HASTY GENERALIZATION about my ststement!!! I said that OVERALL the programming is alot better on 8.2 than it is on 8.1, and it is. I never said anything about the news. I enjoying watching local news. However, I do not really care for the news on WGHP-TV 8.1. Everyone seems way too uptight and too many tabloid stories... WXII-TV 12 has a MUCH better newscast than 8.1 or 2.1!!! The overall programming on 8.1 consists of BAD Fox shows, Court Shows GALORE and infomericals. At least most of the programming on 8.2 is alot more watchable!! Also, they have been showing some GREAT old classic movies at night!! Great station!! WGHP-TV 8.1 is a typical "cookie cutter" local Fox station. Nothing unique or really special about it...

While I have no intentions of getting into a war of words with you (and I will not), your statement above is totally non sequitur. Anyone can say anything they want. But no one has to agree with any of it though. And you are certainly well within your rights to comment anyway you want. But when it gets personal, a line is crossed.

I am not sure if your comment was to impress me (I doubt it) or to intimidate me (probably), it is going to take a heck of a lot more than that to either. Full disclosure, I too have a lengthy resume that dates back 30 plus years in radio and television on and off the air. But to be honest, no one gives a rats behind about it either, as it should be.

Truth is WGHP is a much different station now than it was in the 60's if for no other reason than the 10 or so owners who proceeded Southern Broadcasting, but there are many others. For years WGHP was always a 3rd place station in the ratings. In the past 15 years, that has changed and the once mighty WFMY who was light years ahead in ratings is back in the pack with the rest of us as this market has turned into a dog fight for ratings every sweeps. And they are always tight. No one is a "clear winner" anymore. Every sweeps, it is a different station on top. For the viewer, that is a good thing. You have more of a choice. It also makes us work harder to get those eyeballs. The ultimate winner is the viewer, no matter who wins the ratings.

So people can say all the little cute nasty things they want, but those of us in the trenches everyday, we know who is clued in and who isn't just by what is said and how it is said. Which category do you fit in?

Enough on this subject. I will not respond again on it.
 
I gotta agree with Foxing in right on this one. Fox 8 better step it up or theyu are gonna fliip formats for sure. It's true about how much work they need to do right now and for the last 30 years and all!! :eek: :eek: :eek: ;) 8) 8) :'(
 
I pchoose WGHP-TV 8.2 over WGHP-TV 8.1 FOX- ANYTIME!!! Tv 8.2 is MUCH better!!!
