Did anyone happen to catch that amazing tribute to the one and only "Flyin" Brian Douglas yesterday! What an inspirational story that gives true meaning to the phrase "radio genius"!
Truthfully though, and I can already hear the fury typing away at their mighty keyboards...does anyone have a wireless one?....what an absolute suck fest! First I will say, it is an amazing story that Brian has been in radio, at the same station no less, for 20 years, and he has done amazing things. Huge props there...huge props! Get the hell out of here with the whole Grover, Holly, and Frisch's girl stroking him off all afternoon...and with those "surprise" call in's from Nick Lachey, The Fray, etc. That just made for bad radio...but somehow all of Cincinnati will eat it up! Maybe it is me being jealous...I don't know! My closest brush with Brian is when I was downtown one evening having dinner and Brian wisked his way through the crowd wearing a beret and what seemed to be a cape...maybe like the "Phantom of the Radio"! I just wish I would have been able to recreate that story in such a memorable fashion as the story that was told yesterday afternoon about when the "Q Crew" interviewed The Fray! The group seemed to remember it so vividly, as I will yesterday afternoons show...while I was throwing up in my mouth!
