Depending on what highway you are coming in on - On 70, you can start getting the Class C St. Louis FMs well around Vandalia, on 64, just west of Mt. Vernon, and on 55, near Carlinville.

I've heard Z1077 as far east as Effingham on 70, albeit a very weak signal.

Yeah, Z1077 usually starts to some in around Effingham, about 100 miles east of St. Louis, Usually you can start to get 105.7 THE POINT, and 100.3 THE BEAT around Effingham as well. All the other STL stations usually start to show up around Vandalia, about 65 miles east of STL, like the second poster said.

I live in Evansville, and it seems like about once or twice a month, we'll have a night when almost all of the StL stations come through loud and clear here. I love it because the Point is 100 times better than the rock station here.

But to echo previous posts, virtually every time I go to StL on 64, I start getting most of the stations around Mount Vernon. Most are touch-and-go until 10-15 miles west of Mount Vernon, then they tend to be pretty clear the rest of the way.

I actually went over and back today for a Blues game and it was a pretty signal-friendly night. On the way home, I got KPNT and Z-107.7 until I was about 90 miles out of StL, and KSHE all the way to the Indiana line (130 miles). Nothing stayed with me all the way into Evansville, but fairly close.
