Rusty HumptyDumpty interviews former wallstreeter Jerry Doyle about the stock market drop, Doyle interviews Boortz about is new book, etc.

Yep, Boortz is not TRN. Still seems a bit shaky - Boortz isn't a huge player in most markets to cause much harm, but he's still a talk show host, and sometimes competitor, not just an author. If I was the fifth-string station running Humphries, Mike Reagan, et al, I'd be pi**ed to have them interviewing Savage or the like who's likely on a better station in the market. IIRC, Tammy Bruce filled in for Jerry Doyle not long ago... yikes!

However, The High School Dropout running TRN didn't get the advanced math courses he needs to figure out these difficult calculations, hence, he can't determine whether he can afford to pay talent to fill in.

The problem with syndicated shows is that they all talk about each other without giving any thought to the competitive nature at the local level.

Of course, you can blame callers for some of it. I heard a Boortz caller bring up Rush and Savage the other day. You could tell Neal wanted to blow it off, but the caller kept going back to it! Sure, in some markets, they are on the same station - but in others, they are competitors (and sometimes even in the same time slot).

Hosts should have a rule - no conversation about other hosts! It happens on TV, too! Too often the host or the reporter becomes way biger than the story.

I did't know Boorstz was a cox, thanks for the info, I thought he was a TRN, Tammy Bruce, Doyle and Humphries have voices that drive me nuts...
