Tropical FM....they have b@!!$

The Paterson NJ based tropical pirate heard on 94.3 is coming in with a stereo pilot near the NYC armory on 94.5. In addition, I heard the jock promote their station IS listed on TuneIn Radio. Sooooo they pretty much put themselves out there and nothing happens....maybe I should launch a pirate here as well.

94.9 and 95.3 also play what 96.3 and 97.9 do and they have to be from the Bronx if I got stereo pilots out of those signals.

I happened to know that this station, and Rika FM, were reported to the FCC several months ago via their online 'snitch' page...

The party reporting them received a letter back, stating that no rules were being violated.

Way to go, FCC. Glad you folks are on top of things!

There are quite a number of pirate stations very loud & clear as you drive through Paterson on I-80...

90.1 Roadblock Radio, 90.5, 90.9, 91.9, the aforementioned 94.3 (which has better audio than some NYC FMs... *cough* CBS-FM *cough*), the aforementioned 94.9, 95.9, 96.1, 97.5 "WDBZ" (?), and 104.7.

Some of these signals run for 7 or 8 miles side to side along the highway... pretty impressive reach.

I live in the Northern burbs of Atlanta, GA. Have a pirate station here on 94.3. Has been playing music 24/7, no commercials, no stations ID, except an occasional, 'Brookstone Community Radio'...Brookstone is an expansive sub-divison in the area. Obviously originating from there. Has a radius of about 5 miles

Anyway, has been active sine early June. Can not believe the FCC has not gone after them. I guess they, pirate stations, are becoming more 'accepted', as the feds seem to look the other way...I guess, 'no complaints, no violations' is the procedure.
