Tropo conditions opening up!!

Richard J. Dalton posted on Twitter that he was listening to Virgin Radio in Lynnwood. I was having good results on Hwy 99/Aurora Ave. but terrible results along the I-5 corridor today.

Stopped at a traffic light, I got "Fm104.9" perfectly instead of "Funky Monkey," but it didn't last.

I was getting something very clear on 102.1 FM but didn't hear an ID of any type.

That's great!!

I heard CHKG on 96.1, Virgin Radio on 95.3, JR FM on 93.7, and CBU 105.7 Saturday and probably Sunday.

-crainbebo

What music was on 102.1? If it was rock, it's KPQ Wenatchee. If it's AC music, then it's KSWW Aberdeen. If it's public radio chit-chat, it's a CBC repeater from Chiliwack.

-crainbebo

I think it was rock. The fidelity was so strange that I thought it may have been a satellite/internet phone car transmitter, but it didn't waiver. Based on what people have reported about previous KPQ reception, that's probably what I heard.

Tropo and E-skip opening up again!!

104.1: faint
101.9: KINK Portland
102.1: KPQ and another station fighting each other. The other station was playing a 70s or 80s song and it faded out. Who is this? I'm thinking it's KSWW Montesano, WA. Might be E-skip!
105.7: NOTHING-CBU wiped out by static
96.1: KXXO and probably CHKG fighting each other
102.1 (again): Michael Buble's "Home". Not sure if it's the same station (KSWW) or not.
96.9: CKLG and KGY
97.7: KOMO-FM clear as a bell
99.5: bleed from 99.3
99.3: KDDS clear as a bell almost
91.1: KPLU Mt. Vernon translator
88.1: open carrier. Not sure if it's The Effect's translator in Everett or not.
87.9: faint pirate

93.7: CJJR almost WIPED OUT

28 analogue is KBTC. They are airing an NAB version of the "DTV transition" information as a night light.

On a related note, I moved my TV and can get everything but Fox here in Seattle. Why don't they put Q13 as a subchannel of My Q2? It would solve some reception holes, like where I live.

I actually get analog e-skip from Canada on Channel 4 now. Same with Channel 7. Couldn't get IDs, but this was around 5-6am this morning.

You should be getting Channels 2, 6, 8, 10, 17, 26, 32 and 42 a LOT better now on analog now that all the Seattle stations gone digital.....

UPDATE-2:26PM Sunday

TV band: E-skip on 4, 8 has a little bit of Global from Van. very faint stuff on Ch. 7. Faint E-skip on 3. 10 has some CityTV Van. Ch. 5 watchable with nightlight program.

UPDATE-8:36AM Monday

Right now E-skip and bars are hammering channel 3. No more E-skip on 4, but Ch. 2 is getting faint CBUT. Vancouver on 8 and 10. I suppose a nightlight USA or canadian is on 3. No ID or audio, but bars on the screen.

UPDATE-2:37PM

E-skip on Ch. 2, Ch. 3 and Ch. 4 right now. Ch. 5 (KING, nightlight) unwatchable. E-skip on Ch. 6, including beat bars. Bars on Ch. 3. Faint Ch. 42, which is Van.

I will update this soon.

If you guys like to experience E-skip and tropo clips, you can go to the following link

http://www.youtube.com/user/misarch/

This user resides near Vancouver, BC and has many clips of Tropo, E-skip and TV DXing. There are videos of KPRY Pierre, SD (Ch. 4), KDUH Scottsbluff (Ch. 4), KVVU Henderson, NV (Ch. 5), an unID CBS (Ch. 3), KATU Portland (summer morning logging before CBUT sign on!) (Ch. 2), KCWC Lander, WY (Ch. 4, two videos), KVBC Las Vegas, NV (Ch. 3, watch for the IDs for RealTV), XHBC Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico (Ch. 3), KCBS Los Angeles, CA (Ch. 2, also before CBUT sign on),

forgot to add a couple more

KXJB Fargo, ND (Ch. 4), E-skip pointing S on Ch. 2 (unID), unID station on Ch. 4 (usually KOMO), KSTW test pattern (Ch. 11), weird color bars for Ch. 20 (KTBW Federal Way, it also includes a weird tone), and KCPQ Bremerton, WA (Ch. 13), clear as a bell!
Those are misarch's clips, you can check them out at the link on the last post.

Can you get KSTW's analog translator (K62FS) where you're at?  It originates from Port Townsend, but comes in here in Federal Way, albeit fuzzy.

The conditions have GONE CRAZY ONCE MORE!!!!

UPDATE-9:24AM

First up, a full ID for KINK on 101.9 FM. (158 miles!) Then on 102.1, 3 1/2/10 signal of KPQ (above average!) On the lower parts, 93.7 (JR FM) is fighting with E-skip, as I write. After that, back to 101.9 to a mess for about 4 seconds, then right there, I heard an E-skip or Meteor Scatter opening! It sounded like "(static) ...triple play with free HBO...(static)" which means some type of a Comcast ad. It was strong, then faded out to KINK again. 105.7 is getting hammered with another station below CBU as well.

The TV is blowing up too. Canadian E-skip on all VHF channels 2-6. No IDs yet, but a huge opening right now. E-skip below Ch. 5 (KING).
